I nearly had to do that Sue! My purchases looked a bit oversized when they were on the flatbed trolley. Luckily the 900mm wide plasterboards just fit between the wheel arches of my Megane, the 8 x 2.4M long studding had to sit with one end on the dashboard. Got my senior discount on the load as well, just short of £8.00, I bought all the brackets and frame fixings and treated myself to a new 8mm masonry bit for the job to speed things along.

Bob would have loved shopping with you for that lot. He takes me with hi. Normally to help manoeuvre things into the car, or to sit and hold things in place whilst we drive home...if there is room for me that is! :laugh5:

The elderly aunt I used to visit regularly in Pudsey lived close to a Wickes branch and I was always being asked by Colin to just pop in and buy something he was in desperate need of. I would kick up a fuss if it was plaster related as I didn't want to get my smarter than usual clothes covered in the stuff but I always ended up doing it.....now I claim I'm too old and frail.

Big strides forward yesterday. I love it when you get to the stage where things suddenly start to come together! I shall of course be in there today after a bit of cooking.

Half term break from art today. I shan't be going to the U3A general meeting today. Still not fit and the talk is on Saltsire where Bob and I visited only last October.

Look after yourself Sue!
I shall be going forward on the course I set yesterday after over two hours study and planning. It's a ticklish little problem! I have no doubt it's very good for my brain! If you want to keep it, use it!

No i won't. It's a quiet weekend. Bob is out all weekend at the Model Engineering exhibition, Claire and Erin are down in Coventry visiting Julia and family. So it's a time to chill out. Apart from the wedding dress fittings it's the first time I have been out all week. We did drive over to the wedding venue yesterday, Hiwarth art gallery in Accrington to time the journey as Claire and Erin will be getting ready here on the day.

My sewing teacher is making me a dress based on one I saw online it is in a jade colour lace. Purple coat on top, it has a habit of snowing early in March, pale green high heels and bag. A jade fascinator made to match the dress using some of the fabric, and I have dyed a silk scarf to tie in all of the colours. I am pretty pleased with the effect. We are prepared for snow however. It is Claire's 40 th the next day and Erin's third birthday on the 8 th, it always seems to snow on those days. Being prepared should stop it happening.
The heeled shoes were worn at Julia's wedding 10 years ago, it's a shame not to wear them again. Beautiful shoes, however I am more used to trainers and flatties these days so I am breaking myself in on a daily basis. Heel ball toe is the way to walk. It doesn't half improve your posture. I think it will be sandal flatties for the evening. I am inclined to enjoy an energetic bop with my sister at family weddings :laugh5:

" it is in a jade colour lace. Purple coat on top,"

Don't be offended but that instantly reminds me of this poem - one of the consequences I guess, of living next door to a poet.

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me,
And I shall spend my pension
on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals,
and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I am tired,
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells,
And run my stick along the public railings,
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens,
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat,
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go,
Or only bread and pickle for a week,
And hoard pens and pencils and beer mats
and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry,
And pay our rent and not swear in the street,
And set a good example for the children.
We will have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me
are not too shocked and surprised,
When suddenly I am old
and start to wear purple!

No offence. I have always worn purple, lilac and all it's shades. I even threatened to sit on the pavement once in France as I refused to walk another step? :laugh5:not sure about three pounds of sausages though!

That's good news Sue. Nothing worse than an infection that lingers on and there are a lot of them about these days.

Mrs Tiz has had a bad cold and now I've got one too. I'm glad to hear you're better Sue. I think I was keeping the cold at bay but then I had a bad night were I lost a lot of sleep (due to eating cheese in the evening!) and that probably damped down my immunity. The following day I was full of a cold.

Mrs Tiz is nearly back to normal and I'm on an upward trajectory. Do respiratory infections linger on for longer these days? Or is it just due to me getting older?

I never got in the shed properly yesterday because no sooner had I got in there after a busy early morning at 09:00 than Susan knocked on the door. She took precedence over anything else of course, I love her to bits!
This morning I am determined to get in there but first I have some cooking to do. I like being a singleton but it does mean you have to support your own sky!
