Only in Barlick...
Only in Barlick...
Thought it might be useful to have a topic dedicated to the quirkiness and unique qualities of Barnoldswick.
Could I respectfully ask that it remains just about Barlick to keep things streamlined? If you have quirky/unusual items about other areas, why not start a different topic?
Photos, anecdotes, reports - all welcome here so long as they celebrate the things that make Barlick different/special.
Apologies if there’s a similar topic elsewhere - I couldn’t find one when I came to post the photo below.

Spotted last week on the local taxi rank. Other towns have stretched limos for those who want to travel in style. Here we have the ultimate in country living...

Blimey BK - that was quick off the mark! I wanted to post the photo in a separate reply to keep the first post on its own.

We have one just like that sitting in the barn waiting to be restored.

I was once held up by a traffic jam on Lister Well Lane. Alwin Simpson discussing local history with a car driver and a lady with a dog.

Well done to all of them. Next time you're taking nominations have a look at Mark our perfect street sweeper! He's definitely an unsung hero and part of the town even though he lives in Skipton.

Re: Only in Barlick...
I called in at 'Glory, Glory' (the new vintage shop - is that an oxymoron? - on Church Street) whilst taking piccies for the Barnoldswick in Bloom Awards this morning. As I was leaving, and another chap was going in, I commented on the two milk kits they had for sale and wondered if they were ally or steel and told the tale about working on the can wash at West Marton Dairy. Turned out that the fellow coming in had worked on the can wash at a dairy in Cumbria... how's that for coincidence?

Do you know the bloke's name? I must know him... As you say, a coincidence and I love them. I have come across some very strange ones in my time and I often wonder how accidental they are, they seem too perfect at times.

Re: Only in Barlick...
I think he's connected with the shop; will ask next time I call in.
If he is part of the furniture as it were (pardon the pun), the people who have the shop live in Rossendale.
