Indeed. The quote that grabbed me today was from Janet.... "stealth guided right sided temporal craneotomy debulking of brain tumour" Interesting but ominous!

Or maybe better to donate the National Trust to Stanley then we'd know it was in safe hands. (And they tell me the NT is leaning to the left so it might be a good match  )

I especially liked Calluna describing you both as an 'eccentric chuck'.

They will do wonders for your well known chronic low self esteem. :laugh5:
I've been trying for ages to get that in without causing offence. Hope I've succeeded.

One of the funniest loo messages I ever saw was at a transport cafe over on the East coat. The condom machine had been ripped off the wall and stolen. The graffiti read "Somewhere, someone got a letter" The Post office was running a big advertising campaign at the time "Somewhere, someone wants a letter".....

With thanks to the Telegraph. From the Prime Minister.

“I want us to be a country where it doesn’t matter where you were born, All that should matter is the talent you have – and how hard you’re prepared to work.”

However - it is also announced that -
“Firms Must List Foreign Workers”, and we learn that her Government “plans to shame companies” that it considers to be hiring too many of them.

Well spotted, Tripps! I heard Owen Smith on the radio this morning replying to the suggestion that the Tories were promising to do things that should be on Labour's to do list. He replied: "Well they can say it but it doesn't mean they'll do it". That seemed a feeble response. Doesn't that apply just as well to Labour or any other political party?

I've been reading the Guardian on line recently and the articles I've read have given broad support to much of what Theresa May is up to but has been mentioning Mr Corbyn in a less than endearing light.

Which doesn't exactly ring true for what has been a staunchly left wing rag. Its pretty much required reading for teachers which says a lot......

The Guardian has got itself into trouble over its reporting of the Corbyn-has-no-seat-on-the-train issue. It used a so-called `gonzo' press release (I don't know what that means) put out by Corbyn's team and didn't check the facts. LINK

Back to quotes...On the radio this morning someone quoted Theresa May's comment in Parliament about Boris Johnson: "Boris has experience of negotiating with the Germans. Last time he did so I believe he came back with three new water cannon."

Bob Dylan - awarded Nobel Prize for literature today. Hooray.

Oddly enough - I played my vinyl LP's only last week. The back stamp shows I've owned them for 51 years. Still play fine - amazing.

When I was a student one of my friends played piano and sang Dylan songs. We used to gather together round the piano (with beer) and sing along. Great times!
