Sundial in Marsden Park
This twenty-sided Icosahedral sundial in Marsden Park, Nelson, was erected by R.T.Wroe Walton of Marsden Hall in 1841. It was designed by Thornber and Kippax. There are only two other sundials like this one in England. Originally it stood close to the Roman baths (dungeons) but it was moved to its current position in the early 1930s. The inscriptions on the dial represent several cities of the world. Over the years this rare sundial has suffered damage.
