Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
I note the Canon 650D has been launched but so far the reviewers seem to be quite underwhelmed. One even calls it a retrograde step with the sensor and the changes are little more than cosmetic. If anyone finds a different review saying how brilliant it is, please don’t show me as I only just bough...

Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
Thanks BK. I’m just a bit wary of buying blind, so to speak, after getting 2 hoods already that aren’t suitable although in their description it said they were for my particular Canon lens. I’d like to physically try one out in a shop - might take a trip to Clitheroe soon. I’ve added the Amazon hoo...

At a traffic warden's funeral they were just lowering the coffin into the ground when, to everyone's amazement, there came a voice from inside. "let me out, I'm not dead!"
"Sorry, no can do" says the vicar "I've already done the paperwork"

Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
My main problem with the camera is finding a suitable lens hood (either tulip, flower or rubber-retractable) that doesn’t show as a dark circle at the widest angle (18mm). I nearly found a secondhand one in a camera shop in Accrington but discovered I couldn’t put the lens cap back on the camera. I...

With regard to auto settings, I tried one of the "Program" settings on the Olympus and produced the image, below http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7252/7585102290_8fa9157458.jpg Grace and Jamie by Olympus_Kev , on Flickr The "Program" setting only sorted out the exposure, really. The...

Re: Photography Nuts & Bolts
It was a bit of a shock when I bought my Canon 600D with 18-135mm lens. Although I’d used the manual settings on my little Olympus compact with some good results, nothing could have prepared me for the vast array of choices I can now make. And make a mess of, I have to say, in quite a few cases! Th...
