Re: SUMMER 2012
Not quite Summer yet in our parts, but just on the tail end of a family houseboat holiday ( an annual ritual for us). We have had great weather and it is nice not to be overwhelmed by 45C temps for once. Mind you, I do miss the stunning dawn and dusk skies of summer. Have been up before dawn every m...

Well we only live once Wendy....and I make a mean 'Rum and Raisin'....
But if you feel it is a bit much, I shall just snip the string that holds the container round my neck...
Best to travel lighter, I suppose...

Damn. Teleport not working. Possibly overloaded with chocolates, flowers, several bottles of wine, deck chair, sun umbrella, sun glasses, sun hat, plastic wine glass, own plate and cutlery. Hoping to make it by the time dessert is served. Shall I bring ice-cream? Honestly, it is no problem.... :laug...

Ann, my hubby is a 'southener' too ( Essex). We stayed at a self contained cottage at Foulridge a few years ago, which was lovely ( though I suspect haunted)...but if B&B is more to your taste it would not suit. We are not B&B types, being slightly anti-social and happy with our own company ...

Much colder in the evenings lately, but days are ok. Still walking every evening...in the pitch black darkness, with coats and scarves. ( Febby coming up for his batch of tests soon 5 years post triple bypass. He is doing great, though he is well and truly heading for Diabetes.) I get dressed before...

Love Wallet and Gimmace, Tiz. Nah...my cleaning routine frees up heaps of time...wouldn't tackle it any other way. I forgot to mention that the couches get moved and cleaned under AND the cushions come off too and I clean under them every week. Found a slice of Tomato down Febby's couch today. Grill...

The constant badgering for donations by several members got on my wick too. ( which I don't imagine will stop, but I choose to ignore it). Not that I wouldn't donate under my own steam....have done before ( way way way more than a pound).... But I do not respond well to badgering under all it's guis...

Sorry. ( wendy, Wendy...have you fainted?) I am a bit like this in everything I do Wendy ( start with a plan and get organised...then in and out....lickety split...job done). I have a tried and true system that I follow every week, Wendy ( which many would find slightly obsessive/compulsive...but it works for me to the very minute). Up at 07 30....strip the bed...jump in the shower and scrub it...throw the first load of washing on...make the bed...clean the rest of the e...

I get 'ratted off' with cooking quite regularly.
Sometimes I wish it would just appear on the plate. And sometimes I would just like a surprise.

I've done a bit of everything today. Cleaned the house, washing, and a bit of Ancestry....then weeded the front garden and planted two Rose Bushes, and sprayed the driveway for weeds coming up between the pavers. Also transplanted some Baby Mondo Grasses that I had divided and potted some weeks ago ...

Hmmmm...ok...so SOMETHING to represent where I live? So what is the art challenge and where do I find info?

Eeeee...I am not sure 'Woman's Hour' would get a look in here either ( is this on for an hour a day or an hour a week? ). It may be a great programme, but I find the title slightly off putting...smacks of 'patting the little woman on the head', which has never sat well with me. And as for 'push-up b...

Interesting that you draw the comparison of a pair of comfortable slippers, Panny, because I bought a pair of slippers last month ( and I thought they looked a bit funny when I bought them) but it turns out the right one has a twisted sole. I notice I am constantly having to adjust it, and have deci...

I too have donated to the old site, but will not be donating to the new site. And ( personal opinion) I think it is wrong to tout for donations whilst running paid advertising. I accept that a lot of you have the opposite opinion. So I am voting with my feet...going on sabbatical from OG...will chec...

Annoyed with the advertising banner. ( Doc, how can you ask for donations to OG when you have taken on paid advertising?) My screen looks more like a fruit machine at a casino. I am afraid 'lights are going out' at this end. I am not spending my Internet money looking at ads for goods and services. ...
