Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
The reason I pressed for it to stay was to prevent exactly what is happening now, being used as a dog toilet, skateboarvd park and a dangerous downhill bicycle run from park street.not to mention the muddy state it has got into. Quite fankly I have more important issues to deal with and when I move ...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
Not being pessimistic but if you lived in a house that actually faced the gardens and Harrison street instead of out of full view or in another area, then you too would be dreading the winter nights. I am not mobile yet but am wondering when they are going to do something with that ugly back wall?

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
Kev, it's not quite dark enough for them yet and they seem to be concentrating their efforts on the roofof the Harrison street dentist at weekends in spite of it being well lit and in full view if the street.

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
Recovering from serious surgery so not here to debate just a few questions for those who may know. What has happened to all the Yorkshire stone that was removed from the front of the gardens? What has happened to the WW11 Memorial gate, the Blind garden gate and plaque, are they coming back? When is...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
I think there's a bit of a mix up here cos Oldlass posted something to Stanley long after the "offensive" report business.

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
As you said Thomo, restricting their access does help which is why more access to the gardens will help restrict them. I also would not recommend that anybody try to confront them unless Kev feels up to it. Thanks Kev for your suggestion but if you only knew how proactive I have been when others hav...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
In answer to Big Kev, thanks for the offer of patrolling the gardens after 10 pm but one of them is even bigger than you and there's more of them. Unfortunately the reason why I know where they all go and what they do is that a member of my family is one of them so nothing to be proud of there. In a...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
Just noticed Big Kev's post and would like to let him know that at the moment the groups are currently partying in the vicinity of Butts, nearest supermarket being One Stop on Church Street. Not to worry, they will return to a nicer setting once it is finished and the garage is handier for them.

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
Just taken DonDon to hospital and am very concerned to see the state she is now in regarding what she fears is to come. The incident you refer to regarding the property on Park Road is unrelated to the Gardens but she has put up with years of problems coming from the Gardens. Nobody will want to wal...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
It still doesn't alter the fact that he has to have access to his garage. Please note also that you may find some people who originally approved of the plan have now changed their mind. Not for me to tell you who.

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
As you say that you have looked again this morning I fail to understand why you can not tell the difference between the pavement and the concrete ramp which is the entrance to Mr Broughton's garage. The back wall that you refer to is directly next to the concrete ramp and not the pavement as you men...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
I am posting this on behalf of an elderly neighbour who has tried to register but does not receive the activation email. These are her words. I am 78 years old and have lived in Barlick since birth. I am extremely saddened to see all the confrontation going on at the moment over the gardens. I fondl...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
If you walk up the path to West Craven high school you will see how much pride they have in the daffodils planted there. These are not being destroyed by the proud ones but by the few who find it "big" to kick them to bits. Through access just gives them a better run at it and a better leg...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
Nobody minds "honest folk" entering the Memorial Gardens but it is not a park, it is a Memorial and as there is a now a pelican crossing, a bus stop on both sides of the road and a lowered pavement on both sides of the front aspect then why spend more of the "honest folk's" money...

Re: Barnoldswick Forces Memorial Gardens
I notice there is no mention in the plans nor on this website of the path that the contractors Colin Braithwaite are building with tha intention of opening up the back wall of the gardens to give "access to people who want to enjoy the park" Scott Whalley of Engineering and Special project...
