When you mentioned Mr Walker, George Walker lived across the road from your shop, he was the surveyor at Earby Council Offices, his assistant was Alec Taylforth.

At The New Waggoners last night, hubby had braised steak in a pepper sauce, he said it tasted just like fillet steak, with chips, and 2 veg., I had home cooked meat pie with chips and 2 veg. Thank you everyone, we had a lovely meal at The Waggoners, it was very busy to say it has been open for only two and a half weeks. Anyone intending to go must book or you won't get in. Not too big a birthday, next year is a big one three quarters of a century!!

If you want to know anything about t he census years, most of us on here doing geneaology would be happy to look things up for you on Ancestry etc. Just let us have the names, towns etc.

Just back from Bury shopping with daughter Jayne (she bought me some Opium perfume for my birthday and I got 2 nighties in M & S with birthday vouchers off my grandaughter Kelly) there was lots of snow still hanging around and the wind was bitterly cold.
