Re: SPRING 2012
When it began raining this morning the car froze solid all over, there was a very keen frost last night. Quite misty now and still very cold. We had a tippler toilet when we lived in Trawden until we put a bathroom in (our old bath was behind a partition in the kitchen and the wash basin in the back...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Rump steak in a casserole tonight with creamed parsnips and mashed potatoes. Out to eat tomorrow night for my birthday at the Waggoners up Manchester Road. It has just reopened, the new owner is the son of the couple who have the Calf's Head at Worston I believe.

Our glass i almost 30.5. We have crocuses out in the garden and in the back garden under the apple tree a red rose is blooming! Very bright with a few clouds coming from the south, still exceptionally cold.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?
Doesn't Soreen have a lot of sugar in it? Sort of mixed grill tonight with pork and black pepper sausages, two small pieces of steak cut off the rib eyes we had the other night, and a small piece of gammon cut off from when we had it last week - waste not want not. I shall be doing something in the ...

Re: SPRING 2012
Spring must not be far away - two starlings are trying to build a nest in our eaves with branches broken off the cherry tree, and two doves were getting lovey dovey on a neighbours roof. Beautiful day but very cold.

Re: SPRING 2012
All our snow has gone, but there are some strange sights - the top of Hambledon is visible but the town is covered in fog. Where I am sitting I can see to Worsthorne but all below it is also covered in fog. Our neighbour's garage roof was steaming in the full sun. The clouds are now moving from the ...

If some of the other chat rooms are anything to go off we would need a moderator to deal with the bad language.

Re: SPRING 2012
We had no snow until after dark last night and then it did not last long. The roads and cars were covered by thick ice. Our daughter lives the other side of town and she said they had about 3" 0r 4" of snow and traffic could not get up Todmorden Road for the ice. Thawing now and been foggy...

I cut it up, brown it and put it in the slow cooker with some stewing beef, onion and garlic, throw in a chopped up carrot part way through. Also make it into a casserole with onions then make a rabbit pie.

I buy very little ready made/part cooked as it is much cheaper, and not that difficult to make from fresh ingredients.
