I haven't it to hand, but see TImmins' book on handloom weaving, ' The last shift'. He deals with all fabrics, and shows how handloom work lasted longer than at one time thought. The older book by Bythell just deals with cotton.

Hagg was a farm in Gt Marsden, just south of Colne Water, and thus near Colne. See 'Oldmaps' website, e.g. the first 6 inch map from the 1840s, west (and just south) of the Waterside area. Gt Marsden was of course in Colne parish. The 'modern' Hagg St is there, and is now I suppose part of Colne. Rex
