Re: QUOTE OF THE DAY. TRIPPS ORIGINAL

Richard, now I know where the lady I knew got the Onan connection from when she named her parrot. Dorothy had a rival, forget her name, They met in a doorway one day and the other lady said "Age before Beauty" and stood aside. Dorothy sailed through saying "Pearls before swine!"

Re: Geology book published October 2011

Book delivered yesterday. First trawl through. Useful reference and a good addition to the shelf but not the most riveting read in the world for a layman. It would have been far more useful if it had an index, not the hardest thing in the world to make using today's programmes. Think about adding on...

Richard, I agree. The BBC Horizon programmes are a national treasure and I believe their budget has been cut. Panorama is doing some good work as well.

You old smoothie Kev! James Murdoch scuttling back to the US to avoid the flak. We can survive without him. However, he may not have avoided the consequences of his actions, particularly the cover up of bribery which hasn't really got going yet. Diabetic clinic today. Hooray for the NHS. ( Sh...

See the topic 'Section P' for an extension of the Building Regs which makes even minor electrical jobs more difficult. I know we need regs for H&S but one wonders how far they can go to restrict our options. Gone are the days when a competent householder could install a plug socket. I wonder how...

Damp but clement morning in Barlick. Wind is NW which is peculiar because Scotland has NE! High night temperatures in Aberdeen, 16C! Glass is steady on 30" and it's about 10C so no problems.

I am convinced that the 'Greek Crisis' and the measures taken to avoid it are actually nothing to do with 'saving Greece'. It is blindingly obvious that Greece can't service the debt it already has never mind paying back the bail-out loans so the question becomes 'why bother'. The only answer possib...
