Re: IPad
I think maybe Santa may be bringing one in his sack this year. Trouble is, I am bad enough on my laptop, I will never be off one of those--it would have to go on holiday with me. A friend of ours got one at apple and they then spent an hour and a half giving him training and setting it up as he want...

From Bedlam to Whittingham
I have received this through LFHHS. "From Bedlam to Whittingham" What was it liked to be locked up in Lancaster Castle, sent away to the infamous Royal Bethlam Hospital, or admitted to Whittingham Asylum because you were 'mad'. Lancashire Archives Preston Bow Lane Preston 10.00am-3.30pm Sa...
Re: Book club
Mine hasn't arrived yet, so I am still on with Vanishing Acts, and still not 100% sure of what to make of it. I usually only read at night for an hour or so and it tends to take a bit of remembering what it's about, not a good sign that.
Re: Book club
Yes you can order it from Lancashire Libraries-- are you a member? if so you just need to log on with your membership number and off you go. There is a cost of 60p, I think, if it has to come from another library.
Re: Book club
I'll let you know when mine arrives at the library. Do we wait until everyone finishes before reviewing? Probably a daft question that.

Re: SO, WHAT IS A CAT?
There was a program on tv many years ago about some cats on a Yorkshire farm. They were studying how far they roamed. The male cats went far and wide, the females stayed within a small circle of the farm and never went beyond it.
Re: Book club
Looks interesting. I'll see if I can get it from our library.
Been on line and ordered it, there are 23 in Lancashire Libraries and all are either out or in transit at the moment---seems popular, so hopefully it will be good.

Re: Book club
I'll give it a while longer.
Re: Book club
I wouldn't bother Sue.
I have started another one of hers Vanishing Acts, don't quite know what to make of it as yet, but they do keep you wanting to read more.

Re: READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
Wendy, may get that on next library visit. I like an autobiography. Have you read Richard Bransons?
Re: Book club
I think you have it spot on Wendy, quite a disturbing book which I found it difficult to put down. It had more twists and turns than I thought possible, I felt it read as though it had been written on the go without a plot, and then out of nowhere another twist.

Not been ignoring this Thomo, we have been away. I would like to bet that Mable will be back again.

Re: Book club
I haven't time to get another book to read whilst away, so sorry Sue it will have to be this for me. I know what you are saying about them but they do keep me gripped.
Have you read any by Mary Higgins Clark?------ another author with a lot of books I find worth reading.

Re: Book club
I have got Jodi Picoult's Perfect Match to read whilst on holiday if you fancy that. I will be back to review it in about a fortnight. I have read a few of her others and all are very good.

Re: READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
Panbiker, just collected Tank Twins from the library for O.H. to read. On a quick flit through it looks very interesting. It shows Pegasus Bridge, my Dad was in 6th Airborne and parachuted there, so it has much added interest.

Re: SO, WHAT IS A CAT?
Oooo Chrissy these lean mean hunting machines don't like to be kept in the dog cage. Ours have been there in the past and the fun usually starts after a couple of days. Our newly three legged cat could make a good jail break after three days.
