Pleasant morning here. Just learnt that a farmer has cleared a way through the snowdrifts between us and the pub at Black Lane Ends.

I've just had a look at the British Newspaper Archive and there are many references to the Girls Friendly Society in the Clitheroe Adveriser and Times between the 1940s and 1960. Run by Clitheroe Parish Church.

I set out intending to walk, Col was going to drop me off at the end of Warley Wise Lane so I could walk a circuit round the lanes but after I had got soaked just putting the binbag out at the roadside I quickly changed my mind! I got blasted with bitterly cold wind and rain just walking back home.

We had stronger and more persistent wind yesterday than during any of the recent named storms. A brief lull is expected this morning then wild again later and through the night.

Re: ENERGY MATTERS
Yes Kev we do. Freezer, electrics involved in the central heating, TV, WiFi and the bore hole pump all run off the batteries. We are all set up to survive power cuts. It just came back on 5 minutes ago though! It's interesting to see where the power line goes from the reported cuts. Down Harden Clou...
