Spoke too soon, ramped up again. We are being plagued by a Spam server that is resistive to firewall rules.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Today I have mainly been spending the morning travelling to Skipton to get some new trainers. No mean feat today, the normally 25 minute bus journey took 1 hour and 5 minutes! Traffic was backed up to the Elslack road end roundabout onto the A59. Traffic lights when we got there were three way at th...

Re: WW2 service records

It has just taken about 16 months but a bit of good news for today. I had an email from the National Archives with a link to download my dads service records. 37 pages in total, some repeated information and interesting reading. I have lots of dates that I can apply to his six and bit years service ...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

Medical stuff started for me at 4.30am this morning. Not me but the realisation that Sally had fallen down the stairs shortly after getting up to go to the loo! I heard the crash and a roaring noise which turned out to be the Shark vaccuum cleaner that she had landed on at the bottom of the stairs w...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Saw a report that the RAC are lobbying government to reinstate the hard shoulder on all "smart" motorways. This after the government has scrapped the project and abandoned further work on any further roll out due to the public's mistrust in the the technology. Obvious next step and to be w...

Depends on the size of the vessel and what it is made of, (which as Peter says should be identical for a true result) and any container in the microwave is likely to be much smaller and not made of metal like a pan on the hob. Sorry but a feeling is not good enough for a proper test.

I note that Rayner says that if found guilty she will resign...... I suppose that's meant to reassure us, she wouldn't say that if she was guilty. Another thing that I have only heard mentioned once regarding this and something I am aware of. Breaches of electoral rules have to be prosecuted or dea...

I doubt if they could do 3 x 6 hour naps. When you think that it is only just over 100 years since the first 12 second flight at Kitty Hawk, it's amazing the speed of innovation. Two World Wars helped in that respect of course.
