Re: Test Topic

Indeed, I'm fairly sure this is a routing problem rather than a spam attack although there is some light activity there. See my post in the Admin section.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I posted what is below on the OneGuy Facebook Chat site that Wendy put up last week. Private site so you need to be invited or ask to join. Useful for discussing stuff when there are problems. Had a couple of emails to say that the server has now been migrated to the faster infrastructure. this was ...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

No, requests on a traceroute are not making it to the proxy server that feeds our site. This is looking like a network infrastructure problem.

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

For the record the 502 errors seem to be intermittent. The is an additional problem in that the admin console used to update the firewall is not accepting updates. Could be a problem at the IONOS end but there are no messages to that effect. There are a number of Amazon Web Servers that are hitting ...

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS

When we updated the LTP I installed it on another instance of the phpBB forum software that the live site runs on. We did that on Stephens server space, that allowed us to embed all the pictures in context in the project. In the old version of the LTP they were only available as a separate download....

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Aye isn't technology wonderful? After my op I had no motor functions at all from head to foot down my right side. The fantastic neuro physio team sorted all that and taught me to walk again, albeit with a very slight deficit, (one of the disadvantages of the trauma of brain surgery). Ever thankful f...

Re: Miscellaneous DIY Projects (or bits of jobs)

Spring cleaning stuff. Made a start on jet washing the yard. Sally wants her new mini greenhouse setting up which has a knock on to other jobs. Its sits against our neighbours kitchen wall, and as that is the full length of our yard we look after the stone paint on it, brilliant white. Our backyard ...

Rishi Sunak's flagship Rwanda bill is set to become law after five months of Westminster wrangling. It designates Rwanda a safe country and is a key part of the government's plans to send some asylum seekers there. The bill has been fiercely criticised by opposition parties but after several debate...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I had a new 27mm cows tissue valve fitted at the end of July in Leeds General Infirmary (a place that I know Ian is familiar with) and felt nearly back to normal a couple of months later. The valve should last 10 to 20 years with the chance of having a further valve inserted into the centre of the ...

Re: Seen in the News

A damning report - we know the smart motorways are dangerous, here's more evidence, yet National Highways denies there is anything wrong. Think Post Office, Grenfell, water companies, Rwanda etc etc. What's gone wrong with the people who are supposed to be running our country? It's like they live o...

We have just finished season 2 of that also Stanley. Ended on an "up" rather than the shock "downer" of the first series. I hope there is another series the characters and side stories have lots of potential mileage in them yet.

I think the first scan results were in about 10 days.

When I go to Leeds for my MRI scans, the results are usually in about 3 - 4 weeks for me.

Just been in the CAT Scanner again in the car park at Asda. For the follow up to the first one I had in January in the Lung Health Check program. I was the first one on after lunch, 2 passes in the scanner, all done in 5 minutes.

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

Could be Kev as if you do a command line traceroute it does not fully resolve to the IP address of the VPS. It comes back to what I have said multiple times though, expect anything during what are regarded as normal downtime hours, Midnight to 6am probably universally scheduled for maintenance on in...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

I am in the unenviable position of having to work with what I have got when the site has problems. I go with the majority experience and the available evidence that is available through tests, logs or remedial actions. It's common practice in fault finding and is how I was taught when studying for m...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

What can I say, these server logs don't support your experience. They cover the period in question 19th to 20th. First is the server CPU and the second is RAM usage. No drop outs recorded, a fairly constant state on both.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I have said this before. Your morning Stanley is not the same as most other folks. You tend to be on the site during what is normally regarded as maintenance time by hosting providers. Without keeping the same hours as you I can't be certain but the logs don't support your experience of the site. It...

It's working fine for me, could potentially have been the Ionos upgrade impacting Stanley. I've not been in and had a look to see if it's been done. I have not had any notification from IONOS and they did say they would give notice before the migration. The server will have to be shut down complete...

I have seen the Physicians Associate twice at our surgery. OK but they can't prescribe anything only suggest. Not heard of Community Matron though, any relation to the old District Nurses perhaps?
