Don't know about the leek and potato have put mixed veg in and it tastes fine. Leek and potato is great as soup though. The recipe for cauliflower cheese savoury came of a packet of golden wonder crisps it's yummy!

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

I also have Norse heritage never heard of putting marmite on your porridge? I like mine with a generous spoonful of honey. As for the cauliflower cheese I had a recipe where you boiled the cauliflower, then placed it in a oven proof dish, in a separate pan fry mushrooms, onions, chopped bacon and th...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Oh Wendy Isn't it wonderful to have pictures of your dad and that you have all that history to preserve. You are lucky. I don't know what happened but other than dad's wedding photo onwards I have none. I have some of his sister and his brother all in later life none as a family with his parents and...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Good Luck with the new job and well done you for getting it in the first place. Today I am going to the garden centre for some more stone to finish of my flower bed in the hope of keeping the weeds at bay whilst I am away on holiday for 3 months.

Re: OUR WONDERFUL SITE

Hello all

Delicate subject, until I was told I didn't know why there were colours for different members. I wasn't even aware that donation was financial. I only donated to get rid of the adverts and speed up my computer thanks for the advise Stanley it zips in now.

Hello Sunray

Thanks for the sympathy the Hartley's are a bit of a bind there are so many of them but it's like being Sherlock Holmes and so invigourating when you find another link. This site is exceptional in that the people are so friendly and helpful.

Perhaps you are right who knows but everyone is allowed their own opinion and it shouldn't be taken personally it wasn't posted with malice. It's just a comment.

Re: CONOR'S CORNER

Now looked at the old site. Plenty of talent on this site. I won't be submitting anything as I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler. My art teacher at school gave up on me just as well as I knew I was useless at it.

Re: OUR WONDERFUL SITE

It amazes me that we all think it's a wonderful site and yet the donations to keep it that way don't seem to go up and is static at £39.00. I think it's great that if you donate as little as a £1 it gets rid of the adverts speeds your computer up as well. :dontgetit: The site's full of helpful and f...

Re: Joseph Bracewell/Susy Hartley/John Higgin

Hello Stanley Thanks for the infor on will terminalogy it's very confusing. Henry Higgin's will has quite a few fine and seized and put in trust. I am led to believe that the trust bit was an early kind of tax evation. This is the easiest explanation I have had. So hope you don't mind but I have cop...
