The test of a good teacher is not how many questions he can ask his pupils that they will answer readily, but how many questions he inspires them to ask him which he finds it hard to answer

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I was chatting with the LCC peeps who were still working on Skipton Road after 10pm last night. Very cheery in spite of the weather

I had left it until then, for the wind to die down, before taking Merlin for a walk.

Re: POLITICS CORNER

Brighton I think, is putting a proposed Council Tax rise somewhat above 2% to a referendum. They have explained why they want to do this and where the extra will be spent. Should this be carried it will be interesting to see Mr Pickles' reaction - in theory, he should be delighted yet in reality, I...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Bit of a car crash interview from Chris Smith on Today this morning. Then blaming cuts, but a look at the budget suggests: In 2012-13 the EA spent £1207.4m compared to £1166.6m the year before. It ended the year with £95.8m cash in the bank How big an increase in spending would it take to qualify as...
