Re: BEWARE! THE BANKS ARE OUT TO GET YOU!
I heard on the radio recently that the LIBOR is fixed daily, and that 16 banks send in their figures. The highest, and lowest four are eliminated, and an average is taken of the middle eight. I don't see how the figures of one organisation eg Barclays, can have much effect. There may be much more to ...

Is this connected with the fact that Doc's house came off the market recently? Is the great adventure now about to happen? Perhaps best to start the pirate ransome fund now.

I don't think she said that she wouldn't get a bonus though. Be interesting to see how they spin next year's bonus.

Yes - I've heard it, but never used it - not very elegant is it? A bit too confrontational for me.
I've heard the other one too, but it had two parts - the second part was "and a jump at the cupboard door". My day will be ruined now trying to remember the first part.

In total contrast - My Tesco order was late last week, so I rang the help line to see why. Got through immediately to a very nice woman in Dundee ( I think she was Janet in Dr Findlays casebook), to confirm that the order had been received. She apologised, confirmed the order, and said - " I'll...

You mention Lord Sieff above - I saw him once in the late eighties when he had been retired a few years, but still inspecting the Marble Arch branch of M&S and examining the stock closely. They say "retail is detail". He certainly thought so.

Consequently there's not much sleeping being done at the moment. I'm not a much of a fan of bells, but this peal was merc...

Remember the black fox, which was photographed the died in a road accident a few weeks ago? Well DNA tests have revealed that though anatomically it was a fox, though with very thick fur, it had genes of a Russian raccoon dog, and is believed to have been either an exotic pet or an escapee from a fu...
