Re: PET'S CORNER
Hi Stanley, the blur bottom right is Honey the cocker spaniel. Tragically, we lost Sam-u-el the span-u-el around this time last year to liver failure on the day of the Beast from the East. We made the decision for him and let Honey see and sniff him which was again, a good decision. However, it is g...

Re: PET'S CORNER
This is an update on Buster, our 1 year old Munsterlander. What a year it has been! He arrived with a slightly gippy tummy for which all the litter had been prescribed antibiotics and because we had travelled 200 miles or more, we took him home. Firstly he has never been ill, but the tummy persisted...

Re: Homing Frogs
A quick check yesterday revealed a goodly amount of frogspawn but this morning was something wondrous, a bubbling cauldron of croaking. I counted the number of heads accurately and found that there were at least loads, if not shed loads of frogs heads above water - that is until Buster the Munsterla...

Re: Homing Frogs
Friday morning 22 Feb for our first frog on frog sightings, however we have had a lot of tree felling activity next to the pond which may have disturbed their routine. Massive old cherry tree will be sadly missed but had started to drop branches and was rotten at the core.

Re: READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
The Bleak Midwinter. A John Grey novel by L. C. Tyler. If you haven't read these historical murder mystery novels before, just try one. John Grey is the chief protagonist and has a special air of self importance. Fun reading between heavier tomes.

We took newly made friends to see Jeremy Hardy, I guess we should have checked their politics beforehand. Jeremy was funny, as were their faces! Ah well, don't take anything for granted.

How did you get Botulism Stanley, purely a professional interest! Actually, I know how you got Botulism, more to the point what did you eat that gave you Botulism and how long ago was that?

I shall have to listen to that programme as I was part of the danish bacon industry for 20 odd years. Danepak started off in Selby and moved to Thetford, being one of Thetford's major employers as well as Thermos, Jeyes and Travenol, later Baxters.

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS
Just looking back to the recycling of stone, one of the last times I was in Nelson, my dad told me that he was responsible for the re-use of stone when he worked at the Town Hall. He remembered where the stone came from but much to my chagrin, I can't remember that, and we were looking at where the ...

Re: PET'S CORNER
Those with a nervous disposition look away now! Buster's bowels have been the cause of consternation in this household. I may have mentioned earlier that he can fart for Britain, well the poo went from mousse to splat and I became convinced that although Sam lived for almost 14 years on a particular...

I too use the dogs as a pre-wash on heavily soiled items, especially the carving board and similar. Mind-you, they get a good clean afterwards.
