Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

There's an Australian company advertising bamboo underpants, with lycra panels, to stop inner thigh chafing on a few of the satellite channels. I've seen it on Quest and Dmax which are part of the Discovery Network.

Re: TODAY'S PENNINE WEATHER

Just dropped my car off at the garage, the walk back home was a bit wet. As you say, no wind yet. Sounds like the motorcyclist, who collided with a wagon, on the road to Bracewell this morning got off reasonably lightly. Colne and West Craven police reported no serious injuries and the road has been...

Re: FORGOTTEN CORNERS

Rossendales and Welsh slate could be delivered by rail and with blue slate particularly, the old stone slabs became redundant. That;'s why you cab date houses in Barlick by their slates, stone was pre-1850 and blue slate after. I must presume the kitchen, on my old Park Street house, was using up t...

Re: Seen in the News

Kev, as Peter says, since it became clear to oppressed people that non violent protest was ineffective. I don't condone it but it's understandable when you get a very angry protest. The same thing has happened here in recent times. Escalation of violence on both sides occurs when legitimate grievan...

Re: Seen in the News

When did setting fire to vehicles, armed robbery and discharging firearms become a 'protest'?

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Are the decreased hospital admissions, and reported deaths, related to Covid-19 a result of restrictions put in place or, has something else changed?

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Having grown up in Blackburn I look at those distinctions between the areas that are `OK' and those that are `restricted' and wonder how folk there will know which they belong to. I didn't live in any of those areas but I was in Blackburn! The division seems to be roughly between north and south bu...

For those that haven't and would like to, here's where you can get tested. You don't need to have symptoms, everyone in Pendle is being encouraged to have one. https://www.pendle.gov.uk/coronavirus?fbclid=IwAR17j5q7DkPZK-gGPRAjgdRnvZWJEEZFfw9JIOsDDTV81he79UM_jag6OAU Alternatively you can order a hom...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Put me right if I am wrong but my reading of what Susan sent me is that Barlick is not affected by the new measures. You are correct in your presumption. There is a lot of confusion around the 'new' restrictions, as well as the existing, from both residents and local councillors and probably the go...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Looking at the .gov website, it looks like any social gatherings are now not allowed in the areas with further restrictions, it's all very confusing, I think things would be a lot easier if local councils issued a postcode specific instruction. Despite dedicated local efforts, evidence of rising rat...
