Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

I must agree. We had two or three days of warning before it became absolute. It needs to happen. It needed to happen a couple of months ago. Remember my step son came back from a holiday in Thailand about 9 weeks ago now. He was Covid tested by men in suits on the tarmac as soon as he landed. Then h...

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

I have mentioned before that it is important to check use-by dates. Our shelves were stripped bare ( no toilet paper for 4 or 5 weeks running etc) Other shelves stripped bare too...the usual things you would expect...Soups/Pasta/Rice/Noodles etc. ( easy things that folk will reach for if they can’t ...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

What an incredible day! Took the car for a decent country drive because it has been sat in the garage for the past 9 weeks. So many people doing the same thing. ( Where did all these humans come from?) Happy faces everywhere. We didn’t stop or get out of the car, but gosh it felt good just to feel p...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

I live in a tourist hotspot and we are “open for business” once again, with caravan parks and accommodation re-opening ( but not the pubs or cafes etc yet) , but only for people within our state. We cannot cross state borders.

“Colonise” was the wrong word to use. I really meant live long enough to be distributed via... Just read on BBC news that people arriving on flights to the UK ( except from Ireland) will have to self isolate for a fortnight as from the end of the month. We started that 8 weeks ago. P..I haven’t downloaded the Ap. Hubby has ( god bless him...it seemed important...and I just shook my head in disbelief but he found it important...and I respect his decision to feel that way inclined). We are always together. Re: POLITICS CORNER

. Why do people have to be so nasty and confrontational. Exactly. I have always wanted to congratulate UK on one thing ( nothing to do with the virus). You guys need to be proud of your security forces. We have often sat in awe over the past few years when your police force/security forces have qui...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

I don’t give a hoot about politics, so I have no barrow to push there. I don’t give a hoot about the NHS, so I have no barrow to push there. I don’t give a hoot about the origins of this virus, so I have no barrow to push there either. None of these things are important. We all have our finest brain...

I used to make little patchwork quilts for premature babies to be wrapped/ buried in....but there was never such a daily demand as you now work to, and it was never as real or keen as what you are catering for. I truly respect your effort.

Panbiker...I just had to break my silence today to give both you and Sally a huge cyber-hug. You are both doing a wonderful thing. Salt of the earth, both of you. I shall make no comment about the tragic death rate in UK, both in hospital records and in the ( uncounted) community. But you and Sally ...

Cruise passengers are unlikely to belong to us, but if they are they will be bagged and tagged as per our strict code. ( which...up until this point...you have to admit...has been stricter than yours) they will be tested, tracked, isolated... I am just so sick of the snide remarks. ( when I read on ...

Yeeha! We have only 2 new cases in South Australia today and no deaths recorded.
Do a victory punch for TESTING, TRACKING and ISOLATION techniques...( and fining those not following personal space rules)
Yeeha!
Now...tell us we are talking shit, Stanley!

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I have had such a wonderful day, compared to you, Sue. An early start ( due to daylight savings ending today). Coffee AND toast in bed ( haven’t had toast in bed for about 20 years!) A lovely walk in beautiful sunshine today. A rather intriguing Midday Movie ( more hubby’s style than mine). Strongly...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid19) Corner

Data suggests the disease lasts approx 2 weeks for mild cases, and 3 - 6 weeks for those with severe or critical cases.
(And yes...we do quarantine for 2 weeks post recovery from symptoms).
One of the more lingering symptoms is fatigue.

Susan and Mick will have to continue self isolation for 2 full weeks after they recover...so I would suggest you make your own arrangements that suit yourself, Stanley. You can’t help them and they can’t help you for the foreseeable. It’s the nature of the beast I am afraid. (Actually, I think you l...
