Re: Autumn 2012

Heading for 40 C on Sunday. Predictions are currently for 26C on Christmas Day...but if that cool change is slow to come in and just hovers for a few days it could be warmer. (groan)

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

All cleaned up now, so 'bouquets' to the council, though the horror house wasn't done...but they were only there a few days ago.

( thought Tardis was suggesting I give everyone in the area a pic of the Queen for a moment there.... )

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

Have calmed down a bit now...several hours later...and two glasses of red wine with dinner ( quite amazing the calming properties of red wine). I always pick up rubbish in the street on bin days. I have scrubbed my neighbours fence on four occasions due to graffiti ( my neighbour doesn't care about ...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I am absolutely seething with rage... We have lived in this neighbourhood for about six years. I think it is about time we seriously considered moving! It wasn't such a bad place six years ago, but these last couple of years, there has been a visible change to our environment. Sure, there were alway...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?

I have worked as a nurse and have been conned by prank callers, who have no business knowing certain patient's details...and let me tell you...it leaves one GUTTED to have been put in that situation, because the last thing a professional nurse would do is divulge personal information. Always remembe...

OMG! ( Mrs Tiz's father fell over, knocking over her Mum and both have been in hospital?)
When will it end for you two?
Life must be so stressful for you both at present...
Time to buy a lottery ticket I think. Something good is due to you folk!

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS

(oh...no pressure then! Gulp!) So they are cast iron and not that big....cast iron seems to suggest to me they need to cope with heat or pressure ( but don't all pistons?) I am going to suggest ( without a clue) that they come from a milking machine. Or they could be egg rings for very flat fried eg...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Men can be so frustrating, Wendy, and they don't need to be OAP's to be so. Hubby bought some new trousers several weeks ago and asked me to take them up SPECIFICALLY half an inch! He said he wanted them a little longer than normal. ( I hate all that mucking about for a mere half inch). He would not...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

Sue, if you had of helped Wendy move her dresser, you could have worked off that full feeling and, by the sounds of Wedy's description of the effort, have both done a weeks worth of pelvic floor exercises into the bargain. I've had one of those running around type days doing all sorts of unrelated l...

When I was working as a blood sister, it was commonplace for insurance companies to request HIV tests....for both Life Insurance and Income Protection Insurance. ( personally, I think it is wrong).

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS

Eyelets...
Or part of a 'popper', such as a stud on clothing, though you need 3 other bits and a tool if it were a clothing stud (used to use them a lot on kid's clothes when my son was small)
So I would say it is an eyelet such as can be attached to canvas etc.
