Re: BE Bosom Friends Information and Fund Raising Events

Had to get a bit creative today. Wax & Taps on Albert Road requested some collection buckets for an event they are running on Saturday. We have both tubs and buckets for donations for the group and have or I should say had custom labels for both. I have generic labels for the tops of the buckets...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

A later development still since we started using aircraft is the change from two fixed wheels, (which we have) to four castors, that's another game changer especially for the folk that seem to take the entire house with them. They must surely pay a hefty excess for the privilege when they check in. ...

Just a note, the bots and crawlers are classed as users in any calculations as they use the background anonymous user account for access onto the system. Guest users use a similar universal account also which allows them read only access. The bots can and do make hundreds of hits every day. It only ...

I know you are interested in drainage systems Stanley so I thought of you on our recent trip to Rhodes. We stayed in a reasonable sized village or I suppose small town called Lalysos. I have noticed these features though on other Greek islands that we have visited. The Greeks take their drainage ver...

There hasn't been any objections Stanley it's just a requirement of the fire regulations as we will have the upstairs for meetings and community use. So temporary multiple occupancy which has to be safely catered for. The regs were beefed up disproportionally by the previous government as a knee jer...

Re: BE Bosom Friends Information and Fund Raising Events

Public notice has gone up on Frank Street regarding changes to our plans. A minor change to the shop front and the formation of an emergency exit, refuge and fire escape stairs at the rear of the property from the first floor. We knew that this could become a requirement. Not ideal as it will impact...

It has to be said that there is no way from the Charity Commission website accounts, that I can find, to trace exactly how much has been given to whom, and for what purpose. This opens the door to potential mischief. This is for all charities not just this one. There are of course matters of medica...

Sally and I attended Silentnight this week to receive their cheque from the Michael Hartley and Family Fun Day and football match event held last month. A very healthy £2,200.00 was donated to the group. 30261 Sally and three volunteers attended Foulridge Social Clubs Ladies Day even yesterday. They ...

Trying to rescue a White Tailed Bumblebee that was struggling in the yard. I think he's a male according to his markings so no stinger. I mixed up some sugar water a dosed the centre and petals of a nice big purple flower in the back yard pretty much stripped of pollen. It's head was upturned so mad...

The US military is rolling into Washington DC this week for a rare public display of strength on Saturday to celebrate the army’s 250th anniversary. President Donald Trump, who has long dreamt of holding such an event, will watch on as more than 6,000 troops, 150 vehicles and 50 aircraft take part ...

For 10 days, (cheaper than 7) Lalysos on Rhodes, we arrived back through a thunderstorm in the early hours of Saturday morning. Temperature a bit of a shock after our constant 28 degrees and a totally cloudless blue sky, (apart from two fluffy ones) visible in the distance over Turkey one day. Fanta...

You can fight back in a small way by using a local milk man and buying your eggs from your butcher, (or your milkman if he does them). You wouldn't have to trot out to the Coop and keep feeding the monster. If it's an exercise thing you could do double traffic duty. :extrawink:

For the record, I enjoyed the best Lamb Kleftco that I have ever had and I have tried it on seven different Greek Islands. It was delivered up from a local tavern in Lalysos on Rhodos. Extra ingredients from what I have experienced before, carrots, peas and peppers, the lamb was on the bone also. I ...

An amber weather warning for thunderstorms came into force for parts of eastern and south-eastern England on Friday night, as the UK had its warmest day of the year so far. I can confirm that as we had to fly through it on our way home, seat belt lights came on and a word from the Captain as we dep...
