Re: 2012 London Olympics

Fair enough comment I suppose, Nolic. But your country is on display, and the incomers do spend money which has a flow on effect...accommodation, food, sightseeing, services. First impressions are important. We were not first timers, nor were we security risks, but we still felt that Heathrow had no...

Re: 2012 London Olympics

Don't know about outside London, but tax layers money should be spent processing arrivals at airports in a timely manner. We were there last October, and getting through Heathrow was a nightmare. An hour and a half in stifling conditions, through bottle necked lines. After an international flight, i...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

I got a freebie this week too, Stanley. Every fifth visit to our speciality Chicken Shop gives me a £5 freebie ( loyalty card is stamped each visit) So I chose some Chicken Strudels and paid the extra above the £5. Chicken Strudels look a bit like Sausage Rolls but are longer and much nicer. Had the...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

A yummy milky loaf with a two tone, scaly crust, that has a kind of cracked surface.
( would take a pic, but I am afraid there are only crusts left)
We can buy it sliced, but prefer to buy it unsliced. The loaf I bought looked smaller than normal, and I noticed it was called a Tiger Tummy. Very Cute.

Re: SPRING 2012

I can see I am going to run headlong into trouble with this etiquette thing.
I shall have to pop a plum in me mouth and screw me lips into a tight button shape before logging on.

( let it snow, let it snow, let it snow). :D

Can't even sleep at night at present with this infernal heat, Belle, let alone when the sun is directly overhead.
We are all going collectively mad here.

Brilliant, though I have seen it before. Beautiful dog. They DO talk to you with their mannerisms, don't they?

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

Soaking a pad of folded newspaper in vinegar and applying it to the glass for a few hours is a great trick too. Then remove and rub with scrunched vinegar soaked newspaper. I used to secure the wet pad of newspaper to the horizontal glass with a square of cardboard to back it, then masking tape to k...

Oh...I have stopped inappropriate greeting messages by setting my time zone thingy in my personal profile, Stanley. It should be asking me what I am having for evening meal shortly.

I too have come through the mist and have re-birthed myself.
Even had to cut my own cord. Anyone need to borrow my rusty knife?

Re: SPRING 2012

By contrast, we have endured near 40 degree days for the past five days. Can't eat, can't sleep, and can't be bothered doing anything much. Hate living here...have even looked at real estate in cooler climates as an alternative. Just don't know what to do with myself these past few days, though I fi...

Re: OUR WONDERFUL SITE

One good thing....I can now communicate via my IPad. That is positively wonderful! Some of the greeting messages are hilarious. They keep telling me to go to bed! ( this is because of the time difference between UK and Australia. It may be the middle of the night over there, but it isn't even luncht...
