A blood test that can predict more accurately how long you may have live. Link.. I'm not too sure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing unless you can do do something to cling onto your perch a bit longer.

From my previous post :- The outgoing message is likely to be ' fight to the last bullet but one'. D Davis hasn't used the bullet for the intended purpose. It looks like he has popped it in his pocket to be used later. I wonder when the 'shoot out' will be?

Only the other day my 50 metre long heavy duty extension lead tripped out when I plugged it into my greenhouse circuit. I had fitted a Residual-current device to protect myself from my own stupidity. Opening the plug up showed that the earth lead and the negative return were making contact with each...

What is the estimated power usage for pumping the water? Obviously the bigger the lift and water volume the bigger the energy usage.

I was prescribed some Ibuprofen 10% Gel as a mild pain relief. Compared with the Emugel its useless. I may as well rub toothpaste over the area. A pharmacist who I know said that the massaging action trying to rub the stuff in was probably more effective than the Gel.

Had a lower back problem since Friday night. Don't know how I did it PanBiker, you may have got the answer with your outings on the bicycle. I always put my back problems down to the rather unnatural posture that you take up on a bicycle. Being curled up 'honking' up a steep hill doesn't do backs a...

Thinking about this brought to mind that it is often said that America has never been bombed. This is not true. A solo effort by a Japanese, Nobuo Fujita attacked on September 9 1942. Read about it Here,

Mrs P has a liking for peony flowers so the garden gets more than its share of then. On a good year they are well worth the trouble but get a cold spell and heavy rain then its goodbye for that year.
Some sample pictures although they are bit past their best.

Strange isn't it. people visit a museum to look at a fat berg when the only thing they have to do is look round them. With something like 13% of the people in the UK classed as obese you don't have to look a some putrefying lump of fat when you can see in in the 'flesh' with the owner wobbling and s...

Rhododendrons! tell me about them. When we first moved in over 30 years ago the place was overrun with them. They had layered and layered at every opportunity. My conservative estimate on the numbers dug out is over 30, Mrs P says 50. The trouble is that the buggers bite back. In my last attack in n...

PanBiker, you would be proud of me. On the top of our front garden wall we had some very much well established rhododendrons, possibly over 70 years old. Year after year they gave quite a good display but gradually the branches extended over the pavement and although they provided some shelter for t...
