Apologies for disappearing. Best friend's mother died at 0415 on Friday morning and I've been haring about the landscape ever since. Things have settled down enough that I can get on the laptop ... How about this (ignore the title, it isn't a real clue)
O&S - geode 1 of 3 par StoneRoad2013, on Ipernity
For scale, I think it was about one by two inches across before being sliced up.

Mainly intended as a ship mounted defence against boarders. Christians got the round bullets, Muslim Turks the square shot (more damaging wounds and intended to persuade the Turks of the *benefits of Christianity). Could also fire a form of canister round - a container with 15/20 musket/pistol balls...

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
On some of the links on railway sites there were mentions at earby of branch to munitions site. Would that have been standard gauge and ww2? Some were standard gauge, others were not ... From my own memory banks (I'm not that old, this is from visits and restoration work I've been involved with) Th...

It looks like the areas of "squares" are connected by trackways - possibly a narrow gauge railway ?
So, bomb stores ? or maybe ordinary ammunitions

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Date clue makes me think of shells, but the castings etc look more like parts for field guns (artillery pieces).
I know Boston Lodge (The Ffestiniog Railway's workshops) were used for producing shell casings and my memory of those images doesn't quite match the mystery picture.

Re: MYSTERY OBJECTS
Nice lot of overhead belt driven machinery there. Including a large lathe. Toolmaker / foreman's glazed office (store).
Apart from the two large gear / flywheels - there are what look like either large oil pots or maybe small pumps on the main bench.
Looks like a stationary engine erecting shop !

Re: Spam email
Any one been getting the b1tc0in stuff lately ?
I was getting a really significant number of them, but since the recent crash in value, this seems to have tailed off.
Like anything similar, straight into the spam and sender blocked.

As for registering on-line with the real TPS - I've done a few for various elderly persons now. . Had the Microsoft virus one yesterday (first for months) and managed almost ten minutes before he twigged. I was using my lap top at the time so he would have heard me "typing" and muttering !...

*bump* First point - I am registered with the TPS, and have been for years. which seems toothless as it can do nowt about the overseas call centres, or even some of the home-grown pests. Secondly, the call centres seem to work in waves, both overseas and home-grown versions. It has got to the point ...
