Re: WE ARE WHAT WE EAT

Hubby would so love me to make "good old fashioned rice pudding with Nutmeg like his mother used to make". Sorry I can't- Nutmeg bringing up dreadful childhood memories for me. One foster mother I had in my childhood added Nutmeg and Salt to everything from breakfast cereal to mashed potat...

Getting on...(camper van tales)

Our holiday in the "tin tent" a few months ago, whilst lovely, highlighted that hubby and I were not finding the whole experience as easy as it once was. We are active sorts, and either take bikes or kayaks on our van ( and have taken both). And we have had fun ( oh...we have had fun). But...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

I particularly loathe the (so called) professional medicos who appear as regulars on TV shows to expunge the "latest" medical advice...nothing ever cutting edge...just pushing "safe" topics, and it all comes down to the same old crap about losing weight/stopping smoking/excercise...

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I always suffer motion sickness for about 48 hours after we get off a house-boat following a week long holiday on the river, Sue. I'm not actually sick, but the horizon goes up and down...and the first night in bed feels like I am rocking from side to side. When walking, you have the sense that the ...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

You guys are "space cadets"! :geek: Most modern day lasses have moved on from your self-serving rubbish. I get more warm fuzzy feelings from a man who will do the washing up and take the rubbish out....then make a nice cup of Coffee AND wash the mugs..( cos that doesn't happen much either!...

Re: WE ARE WHAT WE EAT

Any take-away is dodgy. The number of times I have explained my aversion to Garlic and carefully questioned food retailers. Sometimes they are completely oblivious to the Garlic content of their sauces and crumbs. Even when they do not add Garlic, the residual content in their cooking pans and utens...

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

I've made a Chicken and Veg Stew...which I shall turn into a thing of wonder later by popping a Suet Crust Pastry on it and throwing it in the oven.

Re: WHAT DID WE HAVE FOR TEA?

Lovely...you don't get anything left on your doorstep round 'ere ( though we do have one lady living on the corner who is being driven out of her mind with folk not picking up their dog's poo) Spinach and Ricotta Cheese filled Pasta with Red Salmon and Cauliflower tonight, in a white/Cheese Sauce. That's ok then Tiz. I'd hate to think of him only being able to shuffle sideways down little alley ways in his rooms, in danger of being buried alive if interesting objects were to topple.

Re: Today I shall be Mainly...

I have quilted many quilts on my sewing machine, including 2 Queen-sized quilts. It's just a domestic machine with a walking foot. And I love edging quilts. I take a lot of time folding and arranging the bulk of the quilt for each "run" under the machine, and generally throw the bulk of th...

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

Think our sudden stop in the car HAS cured my shoulder! I feel no pain, just a slight weakness if I try to reach overhead cupboards etc. I haven't tried putting a lot of weight on it, such as pushing myself up to a sitting position if laying in bed or laying back in the bath and wanting to sit up ( ...
