Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
We have a work around. A small change in the router and pages are displaying. Orange have informed me that the issue is with BT, it is affecting multiple ISP's who use the IPStream network. A permanent fix will eventually be found but, in the meantime, the work around is faster than the 3G connecti...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
My Talk Talk connection is still around 17Mbps. They do have their own kit at the exchange though I believe. They do indeed, as do Sky. Orange did have their own kit but it was removed last year. I had the choice of Talk Talk, Sky or Orange when I moved away from BT, for the faster connection. Look...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
I felt a big wave of disappointment at the total lack of support from the local companies mentioned above, especially as a friend of mine had travelled specifically all the way from Bolton with a hope of visiting the Rolls Royce stand. What a Shame, it could have been so much better... I believe RR...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
Haven't heard from Orange all day despite them saying all would be working this morning (it isn't) and I would be regularly updated on progress. I have a connection to the exchange but can't open any web pages. Apparently this is a recognised fault that BT need to put a fix in to resolve, it's affec...

Orange told me that BT would be applying a fix to resolve the issue. It will definitely be working this morning, they have 90 minutes left to sort it...Pluggy wrote:My sister in law has been making tentative positive noises this morning. Maybe they've found the issue.....

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
BT engineer has been, fitted a fancy new socket still no titernet though. There's another, wider, fault with some Orange customers not being able to open web pages. BT says it's Orange and Orange say it's BT. We'll see how they get on. There was a fix applied yesterday, apparently, but it didn't res...

Re: WHAT ATTRACTED YOUR ATTENTION TODAY?
I've added OGFB, for consideration, as a community website, on the visitbarnoldswick website. If anyone has any objections let me know and I'll request it is removed. I've 'tweaked it slightly and added the 'walking man' logo? If you log back in you will see what i've done and if you like the chang...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
Ian relays my experience with both BT and Orange. I think that when he does come Kev you'll find you are a victim of the dreaded three cornered conversation. Whenever I had control of a project I banned them. You should have been given the number and allowed to make your own arrangements. Waiting f...

Thanks for the welcome.. I've been 'lurking' for a while :) I've heard nothing but good reports about the 'community' you have going here, it's excellent. Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY
I don't believe anything Orange Customer Service tell me, I only went with them because of the original connection speed offered. I think that one the exchange upgrade is complete, and BT offer the 24MB service, I'll be cancelling Orange.

Re: READ ANY GOOD BOOKS LATELY?
Think I am getting into this site now. I am reading the Kings Speech quite enlightening about the diaries of Lionel Logue who was the speech guy who retrained the oration of King George. I too enjoy a good book and find a good novel really relaxing. Eileen I enjoyed the film adaptation. I will have...
