Re: CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

I still have a crisp sandwich every so often (has to be chicken crisps). It's a throwback from high school lunches. Back then we always had a cream bun afterwards as well.

Re: CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

French Knitting - is that the same as Thumb Knitting? I remember 4 nails I think on a piece of wood. The wool would go round and round the nails and come out circular.

Re: HOUSEHOLD TIPS NOT FOUND IN WOMAN'S WEEKLY

We have a problem over here where Asians (I think Chinese) are buying up our tins of babies powdered milk formula and sending it 'home' because of s shortage in their own country. It's been going on for a while and has been creating a shortage here and some of supermarkets now store it under lock an...

Re: CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

I couldn't imagine putting my fruit and veg straight into the supermarket trolley (or even one of the smaller hand-held baskets that they provide.) That's because my buggy on wheels goes into the trolley while I wander around the shop. The wheels have been dragged over car parks, footpath s etc. I e...

Re: CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

Sorry about your Meccano set Stanley... Growing up I often had dreams about getting back to England. I would be on Colne Rd and each dream I would get a little closer to Grandma's place (Back Colne Rd). On the night, Australian time, of the 12 Oct '72 I dreamt that I got all the way to Grandma's sit...

Re: CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

How many of you still have your school reports. I still have my grade 7 report and my high school years report s.
I haven't looked at them for decades and was surprised to read that some teachers thought I was bright, cheery and well-mannered. Haha.

Re: MEDICAL MATTERS

Oh god that reminds me of a woman (Asian) who catches my bus sometimes. I always try to get off before her and walk as fast as I can to get away from her because she spits on the ground. She doesn't stop or look around her, she just spits and continues on her way. Gross! So many times I 've felt lik...

I've never seen them drinking together. I imagine if they see the lizard, they come back later. I have a water bowl out the front as well which is meant to be just for the lizard, it's next to a water pipe that the lizard sleeps in during dry weather, when the birds know the lizard has gone walk abo...

That's interesting Tize as the low shallow bowls that I have are actually pot-plants saucers too, but are shared with a blue tongue lizard.
