Re: Hello
If you have'nt seen them before, they are a fantastic band and it's a real good night out. They will play some slow some fast and almost certainly a few different strolls which I'm sure as a line dancer you would get on with well. There should be quite a few there as well in 40's dress, if other yea...

Re: Minor glitches
Although I can't see it, it does announce when you point in the area below the ordinary search. You have to know where it is though. Thanks for the information anyway, probably of use to more users than just me. As an aside, with the multitasking that you have been doing on the site, can you turn of...

A bit more on coronal activity, a solar calendar for monitoring sunspot and potential coronal discharge disturbances runs on a frequency of slightly less than 28 days. This being the rotation speed for the sun to present the same coronal disk to the earth. Massive sunspot activity can still be appar...

I see Doc has now turned on Statistics reporting for the site. Interesting, enough stuff in there to keep a mob of statisticians on heat for a while.

From the Portal or Board Index pages, there does not seem to be a link to activate the Advanced Search facility.
Advanced Search only seems to become available from some topic choices as a "Return to Advance Search" hyperlink.

Forum for Local Charities
Would it be possible to have a topic group in the "What's Happening Localy" section for registered Local Charities? Subforums could then be established for any interested parties. With the absence of a calendar feature on the site the subforums could be used for announcements or fund raisi...

Re: Why I choose PHPBB3 Software for the site
There is a Limit of 10 uploads per session, I can increase/decrease this in the admin panel Is the session considered a single visit to the Gallery or your current session on the site? If it's to the Gallery I would say that's about right, it will probably suit most folks and if you need to upload ...

Re: Why I choose PHPBB3 Software for the site
I have just done a test upload of a photo to the site. I do like the fact that it auto resizes for you (I purposly tried an oversize image) and the fact that it offers a batch upload facility (or more than one at least), is there a limit? it would be handy to know for photo diary type posts like Fav...

Re: New site
I have sussed out most of the BBCode widgets at the top of the post editor but for the life in me I can't seem to get the syntax right to tag a URL to a text string. Its shown when you point at it but I can't seem to get it to work. The BBCode strings are not quite as user friendly as on the old sit...

I just sent a PM to Cathy as a test. It said it was sent Ok but it does not show in Sent Messages. There is one bracketed entry in the Outbox.
Re-opening message confirms it was sent though.

Cathy, your Private Messages can be found in your user area, there is a tab in there. The old ones should be available in the archive when all the internet bots have re-idexed the old site. Accessible from the board index page. A bit rocky at the moment but give it time. Archive data is read only.

Re: TIZER'S SCIENCE NEWS
I went out to have look up on the tops above Elslack. It was a bit cloudy up to the North East. Monday Night it was visible at Tan Hill. Historically it has been seen as far south as the channel coast and in Europe into Spain. You need massive sunspot activity for that though. I used to keep an auro...

I see what you mean Tiz although the right hand side bar seems to be dynamic with certain items appearing depending on your activities on the site. For instance, you get an extra line if you have a high score in the arcade. Removing the thanks lines would help though. Maybe it is just a case of the ...

Keeping an eye on the members list is like waiting to see who turns up at a party.
Old friends, new friends, some you know and some you don't.
A good sign of plenty more banter to come.

I agree with Tiz about the old active 30 but have found that if I start on the 'Registered Users' page there is a list of recent topics and it's easy to work from that. I use the Recent History caret next to the arrows in the Firefox bar to get back to the registered users page. When I've worked th...

I have just noticed when visiting the Logo Poll page that it displays the results rather than the poll. Is that because I have already voted?
If not it could be a problem for first time visitors. I notice Stanley has voted in his post. Is this because he could not get to the poll?
