Re: Winter 2013

Hello Ian, yes I finally got back on OGFB, after that spot of trouble. Stanley's still in full flow I see. The weather is showery again tonight over in Nelson (TPRP) The Peoples' Republic of Pendle. I should be in full flow very soon. Let me know when you want a coffee or pint if you're over this wa...

Re: Winter 2013

I appear to be back on after a year's abscence thanks to PanBiker. Thanks. Its funny weather really, just rain and more rain with a day or so dryer, colder in between. Don't know whether we will get any snow - its over in Scandinavia at the moment! :laugh5:

Re: Spring 2013

Spring/Summer has gone for the time being. Rain, wind and cool temperatures for several days to come I'm sorry to say, but that's British weather for you. :laugh5:

Looks like we will have some warmer, sunnier weather bank holiday Monday and also Tuesday. However its back to unsettled, cooler conditions by Wednesday, sorry about that.

Re: Spring 2013

Some hail showers in Nelson today but also sunny spells. A cold day and looks like a touch of frost tonight. Cloudy with rain tomorrow morning. No real sign of Spring weather yet!

Re: WELCOME TO CAT WORLD.

Yes, I agree with Cathy the topic is being spoilt by certain comments, and it damages the integrity of the whole OGFB website.

Re: Spring 2013

After a short Spring-like interlude this weekend, looks like early next week its back to cold easterly winds with a few Wintry showers. So not really Spring just yet - get your warm clothes back out again ! :laugh5:

Re: Spam email

I get quite a few of these spam e-mails. But now I just delete them. I just hover the mouse finger icon over it and a little line of words comes up - usually saying 'Do not open this'. Its worth trying. I have also had a few phishing messages which have caused me problems over the last few months - ...

Re: Spring 2013

Weather forcasters think this cold spell will last throughout April. Could well be true. Slightly milder by this coming weekend with sunshine by day. Could get colder again next week though.

Re: Spring 2013

10 foot snow drifts around Laneshaw Bridge, Foulridge, Lidgett in Colne and Cowling areas. No doubt deep drifts over tops of Nelson too. It has stopped snowing but there is still a gusty bitter easterly wind blowing the snow about. No signs of milder weather.

Re: Spring 2013

Snowing still in Nelson this evening, not that heavy, but continous and blowing around quite a bit and causing blizzard-like conditions on higher ground. Very cold. Looks like getting better tomorrow !! :surprised:

Heavy snow expected overnight and at times tomorrow, drifting in the gusty easterly winds. 20 cms widely and more on high ground. Take care out there. :surprised:

Re: Spring 2013

But it doesn't feel anything like Spring today, its been a very cold day and, there was a bit of snow this morning. Could be more to come overnight Thursday and in to Friday I'm afraid to say. And no better at the weekend.

My keyboard, luckily, has a green light letting me know that capslock is still on as well as the pop-up blue reminder on the screen, so if I loose one at least I have the green light there to remind me.

Re: Dog Fouling

We have the problem of dog fouling here in Nelson too, especially on side streets and main streets away from the town centre. I confronted an elderly chap who has three dogs and was letting one of them get down to do its poo at the side of the house (on our land) he went in to a shouting rage and we...

Re: COMPUTERS, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY

BT Internet is now back on thanks to the help of expert technical help over the phone. It was off over a wide area but had returned today. It seems I had pressed the antenna ( 'A' ) thingy top left of keyboard. Its something so simple. Will know next time. Thank you Pluggy and Stanley.
