Re: HELP REQUIRED
Thanks for that Tizer, the press may become involved. The Police have just been to go through the details again and have now got a diagram showing what took place. The wife had waited to cross the road until the Mini passed, she then crossed the road, the car stopped and then reversed quickly backwa...

Re: The Barlick War Memorial Group
With some regret, I have decided to cancel today's meeting, Two reasons are the weather and my wife who is in a great deal of pain after her accident yesterday, I am not happy about leaving her alone. More later.

The Memsahib has just returned, Smashed big toe and on crutches. Last night she finished work at eight and looking forward to nine days holiday, now she is facing at least six weeks immobility. To the driver, come forward, we WILL find you. Many thanks to the members for your concern.

HELP REQUIRED
There was an accident this morning at about 1130 outside of the Pendleside Hospice charity shop on Church St. A car reversed into a Woman who was crossing the road, and struck her on the back of her leg. The driver got out to see if she was ok, at that time she thought that she was, an elderly man w...

Re: The Barlick War Memorial Group
Many thanks to you all for your input, I have been a tad busy for the past seven days and it isn't over yet, the work is progressing well and the worst is over, only the cosmetics remain. It is less than two days now to the inaugural meeting at Rolls Welfare, Sunday the 5th at 1400 hrs, any interest...

That's it, all of the crap has been uncovered and removed, and re-construction has begun, the old tiles are now in a skip. Three different grades of tiles had been used and fixed in place with four blobs of liquid nails leaving a void under each tile of about 1/8", spider homes, re tiling begin...

Re: The Barlick War Memorial Group
That seems to be a good case for leaving it where it, but some kind of "facelift" might not go amiss. I have made enquiries about the availability of power and water to the present site, and with a little help I am willing to undertake a serious pressure washing of that area when the weath...

You can forget "Hi Ho Silver, John Wayne, and all the rest of the gunslinger Wild West Brigade, this has nowt to do with them at all. There are many able and conscientious tradesmen in our area, and I know most of the best. Yet there are even more, who pass themselves off as "Highly Qualif...

Re: Superstore developments
The bus stop is not that near to Asda at Colne. Try humping a weeks shop up there in a hailstorm, and for me, if I am not lucky and the return bus stops in town, I only have another 3/4 of a mile to get my stuff home. I think its time to get practical.

Re: The Barlick War Memorial Group
Private James Wilson. I removed this name from the toplist after being informed that his name is on the Great Harwood Memorial. That is where he was born, but it now appears that he may have been resident with his parents in Barlick. The family grave is at Ghyll and his name is on the headstone in m...

It will be interesting to see if this generates the same amount of "heat" that the Tesco topic did!

Re: The Barlick War Memorial Group
I think that it is a splendid idea, It would bring everything together. Most towns Memorials are in a prominent place, not tucked away up a side St. And I have no objections to this topic being used for what may be other items but are nevertheless related. As for BWMG business, I have printed eight ...

Re: The Barlick War Memorial Group
Thats fine Ian, I have mailed Chris Foster. Two things are missing and here you may be able to help. I have lost contact details for Vera at Earby and the Woman who got in touch with Doc last week saying she had read about us in the press. All else I had backed up and is therefore intact,
