I always remember a biography of a very famous early french photographer (I forget who it was) who was famous for the clarity of his images even in those early days. He was asked how he did it and said that he only made images in the very early morning when conditions were perfect. Not bad advice! Still works now.

View over Lake Burwain 7.0 AM 2 Oct 2019. Heavy mist lying on the lake and in the valley.

Same view 2 hours later. Malham cove is just discernible as a white speck (centre picture) in the dark background hills.

The number of hours I spent playing "up Red Lane" and I never realised you could see Malham Cove.
Loved the view from St Bartholomew's, I used to go there to youth club and occasionally to Evensong.
Thanks for those pics and memories.

Nice pics P...
I remember when the residents put up the sign saying 'Lake Burwain' and the Canal Company made them take it down. The sign changed to Foulridge Lower Reservoir. The other one is Foulridge Higher.

A bit more nostalgia for China and those who know Colne. Colne town hall and a view showing the railway viaduct (centre, slightly right.). The Town hall and the building to the right (the old planning dept:) are linked via a foot bridge.

I can never do the view justice with a camera. Ponies, major work next door and distant Barlick this morning.

It's a good pic Wendy. Why not send the file to Kev and get him to breathe on it? I suspect he could surprise you.
