Exactly Kev, he may have a few extra aches and pains tomorrow but he's well pleased that he has finished the job. The new hob is a bit glossy but never mind, as long as it works!

Grand job. Is it halogen or induction?

Today's job in the dining room (office refurbishment is on hold while I'm on shift) was to replace the two grey fabric tub chairs. I found these Italsofa leather chairs on one of the Facebook selling pages, they're a bit bigger than the tubs and much more comfortable.
I'm waiting for the B&Q August Bank Holiday Sale to buy the flooring, we've found the one we want but can wait for the inevitable substantial price reduction.

Nice chairs! Induction hob Kev, the most used plate on the old one started going faulty a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure Col will fix the problem now it has been replaced. We have a bay in the workshop full of repaired appliances.... :laugh5:

Thank you, I was very pleased with them. Can't beat a bit of leather.
It's good that Colin fixes things, there's too much stuff just thrown away. I fixed the TV in the spare room by replacing the power board with a used one I bought from Ebay, cost me £10. My son said 'just buy a new TV, you can get one for £200', I just shook my head :biggrin2:

Took advantage of having the day off for the dentist (poor excuse I know but I have to use 60% of my holiday allowance by the end of August).
Gave the filler a flick over with a bit of sandpaper and got some lining paper on early doors, it was dry enough to give it a first coat of paint. Just needs a touch in with white on the ceiling and a second coat of green.

I don't have much in common with that image, my paintwork is a disgrace I'm afraid but I do have an airing rack! Mine is in the kitchen.

The space above the stairs is ideal for the airer especially as it's accessible from the landing. The paintwork needs another coat, there are a few patchy bits now it's dry. That's a job for Thursday as I'm back on shift today and tomorrow.

Got a second coat on during my lunch break. Let's see how it looks once that's dry.

Decorating has slowed as work has got in the way. I did pick up a desk today on Fleabay for the bargain price of £16.10. There's not much to do now just some emulsion on two walls. Electrics and network are in, I may even get the walls painted this week if I find a bit of time.

Got the walls painted and the desk and IT kit in, just need a tidy up and a new roller blind and it's ready for use.

Just how tall are you Kev? I thought H&S said to look slightly downwards at a monitor. Maybe you do?

The two on the left are on an adjustable stand up desk and connect to my work laptop, it will go down so the top of the monitors are at my eye level. The two smaller ones on the right are connected to a desktop machine that's under the desk. The big one is a TV.
I don't usually use them all at once :biggrin2:

I think Kev said earlier that he stands when he is working. Anyway I can contest that Big Kev is at least 8" taller than me. :extrawink:

I have 6' 4" embedded as that is how tall our Dan was. I knew 8" was a bit of a punt. :extrawink:

Certainly worth waiting for the right time to buy, 20% off at B&Q until August 30th. It's the one we had our eye on, rustic textured oak, 12mm thick.

Should have that laid in the dining room and hallway over the next couple of days. Had to go to Bolton as that was the closest with it in stock, picked up a roller blind for the 'office' while I was there too. Already fitted that, only 4 screws :biggrin2:
