Sutcliffe

Post by melteaser »

I have missing baptisms. I know there is the possibility that they never took place but I'm trying to exhaust all possibilities. I'm looking for the children of Barnard Sutcliffe and Sally Dyson spanning a period from about 1804 to 1837 when Sally died. They married in 1804. Most of the Sutcliffes used Colne Particular Baptist but these are not there. I have 3 definite children on file and one dubious connection, hence the need to find the records. They lived in Barrowford, once census return lists Blacko as a place of birth. Using Ancestry, FindMyPast and Lancashire Online Parish Clerk, I can find nothing.

I was wondering if the records for Gisburn are available online. Could anyone point me to a website please?

Hi Mel,
I just found THIS website, which provides links to free on line records. It takes you to the Gisburn Parish Records on Family Search.
There are transcriptions in Colne Library, I'm there every Wednesday morning so I can easily do a look up for you.

Will be looking at that one later, thanks Wendy. Will try it with John of Marsett and see if there is any mileage.
