NHSBT Organ Donation

Post by Tardis »

This probably doesn't fit here, but is quite important because it is the NHS and thus may affect everyone, so please move it to wherever you feel it is most appropriate:

It is the consultation on NHSBT Post 2013 Organ Donation Strategy Survey and the NHS is actually asking how people would like to see the whole process change

Please make sure you read all the rpovided evidence of how they've already framed the debate before you answer the survey, Thank you

I came to look at this topic expecting something quite different. I've just received an email from our local history group about the donation of an organ to our village church in 1897!

Last night I heard a friend's sister died because no donor match had been found for her,

I have just edited up the title and thread posts to be more representative of what it is about.

From my point of view, I am all in favour of mandatory organ donation with an opt out clause rather than opt in as it is now. The countries that have adopted this regime save a lot more lives than we currently do. I will read the consultation and then do the survey, with what I have already read via NHSBT Blood Donor site, I doubt there will be anything in there that would make me change my view.
