My DNA is in the lab, results should be in by August 26th.
I posted a newspaper article, of a diamond wedding anniversary, from 1933 in a Gravesend Facebook group and have been contacted by a distant cousin. I now have more pictures :good:
Still no progress on the elusive gt grandmother yet though.

The lab were unable to extract any DNA from my sample, a new kit is on the way.

It's a cliff hanger isn't it? I'm hoping for a connection with Pocahontas, but quite ready to be disappointed.

Pocahontas is, allegedly, buried in the town I was born in. Watch this space :biggrin2:

I forgot another relative of sorts also came from that area but trying to find a Sarah Smith would not be easy , if related , then ironically she ended up in South America with her husband.

IF my Great Grandfather's other wife (who came from Gravesend as did her father) , is one of your relations we might be step-cousins somewhere along the line. (c1832)

My maternal grandma came from Wimborne in Dorset and previous generations of her family from Cornwall. In a watered down way that would make me partly more suvern than you. :extrawink: I'm OK though as my paternal side from the upper dales are probably from Norse stock. :laugh5:

Some must have bred with the last invaders as my surname is of French origin. Mongrel stock. :extrawink:
