Good God David. It was cold and wet in Barlick yesterday but none of the snow they had at Litton. At 22;00 it was windy and still raining. This morning the flags are drying, it's cold and windy with just a hint of rain in the air. The glass is down on 982mb. The forecast is for a cloudy mixed day of sunny spells and showers. The Brisk NW wind will again be strong and gust to almost 40mph giving a high of 7C and a low of 1C tonight with a -5C chill making most of today feel sub-zero. Enjoy! The outlook is for a couple of days of cold dry weather then warming up but raining on Saturday. Deep Joy!

At the moment its dull and windy and cold and there is light rain blowing on the wind. Not summery!
14:00. I went for my dinnertime walk. Windy and cold, heavy overcast and constant light spatters of rain.

Yesterday we got more light rain later in the afternoon and evening. At 20:00 it was calm and overcast with light rain. First thing this morning it has dried up, no rain, no cloud and no wind. Could be a light frost later. The glass has gone up a bit to 1001mb. The forecast is for a dry day with sun early on. The light to moderate west wind gives us a high of 8C and a low of 0C. The wind chill is a constant -3C all day. The outlook is for another cold day tomorrow and then we start to warm up but Saturday could be a wet day. The end of the cold spell may be in sight.
What is cheering is the fact that it is light now by 05:00 and stays that way until after 21:00. :biggrin2:
06:30. Had a walk before shed. Sharp frost, sunny and almost calm. A crescent waning moon in the south. Cold but a nice start to the day.

Very varied weather yesterday in west lancs, black skies, blue skies, torrential hail storms, light drizzle and nippy through it all. Today we have lightly dotted cloud and the sunshine has with some warmth in it, looks like the makings of a nice day.

Yesterday was a lot sunnier than the forecast suggested. Still full sun and an almost clear sky at 20:00. First thing this morning it was calm, clear and cool and hasn't changed. The glass is steady on 1001mb. The forecast is for sunny spells all day with showers possible in the afternoon, April weather! The wind is a light to moderate West/NW all day giving a high of 8C and a low of 1C tonight with up to -4C chill this afternoon. So very similar to yesterday but with the added excitement of afternoon showers. Tomorrow is a similar day to today and after that it warms up but also becomes more wet and windy. (There is a weather warning for snow in the North of Scotland.)

We got it as well Kev, hard realise that in just over three weeks we will be in 'Flaming June'!
Yesterday's forecast was correct and we had late showers, at 20:00 it was still cloudy and raining lightly. During the night it cleared and this morning it's calm, clear and dry, possibly a frost a bit later. The glass is up on 1007mb. The forecast is a re-run of yesterday, sunny intervals and the chance of a shower this afternoon. The light to moderate westerly wind gives us a high of 9C and a low of 2C tonight with a -3C chill this afternoon. Tomorrow sees the start of a change, we will move into double figures as far as the temperature goes but could have more rain.

Yesterday was perhaps the last cold day. At 20:00 it was warmer and still dry with a bit of breeze, clear sky but that didn't last long it clouded during the night. This morning we have a breeze, it's not as cold and it is cloudy but dry. The glass is on 1006mb and falling. The forecast is for an overcast day but breaking to give sunny spells this evening. The constant from 07:00 onwards is heavy rain all day. The wind is easterly and strong with gusts to 35mph until 14:00 when it drops and backs to become a westerly which will give us much warmer weather. The high will be 12C and the low 10C with a wind chill of -5C when the east wind is at its strongest. It will feel very cold until this afternoon but then starts to warm up. The outlook is for much warmer, milder and changeable weather all week.
05:00. I'm almost certain I shall not be going for a walk in the wind and rain later so I have just been out for a walk round the block. It's calm and dry with a very dark red angry sky in the east. Can't remember ever seeing it as angry looking.

It's sleeting heavily up here with a strong Easterly wind and I have just brought the freezing cold ponies into the barn earlier than expected. I say brought, but Minnie refused to be caught and just turned her large, shivering backside towards me every time I tried to get her headcollar on. I took Sparky in and then just opened the gate, trusting Minnie to head for her stable and bless her, she did.

That was good horse psychology Wendy. An amateur would have made all sorts of mistakes, you used your head and Sparky for bait. I love the image of Minnie turning her backside to you...... :biggrin2:

Yesterday was simple, it started raining and didn't stop all day. Still raining at 20:00 and first thing this morning. I've just popped out and guess what, it's still raining but there is a bonus, it is a top coat warmer than it's been of late. The glass has fallen to 987mb. The forecast is for a dry cloudy day with intervals of sunshine. The SW wind is light to moderate and gives a high of 14C and a low of 8C tonight with a chill of -3C later, almost tropical!
The outlook is for similar weather for the next five days.

Yesterday was warmer but sunshine was in short supply and we had light spatters of rain later in the day. At 20:00 it was cloudy and we had a light shower. First thing this morning it was overcast, dry, calm and mild. Still the same. The forecast is for an overcast morning then sunny intervals and showers for the rest of the day. The moderate SW wind is constant and gives a high of 14C and a low of 5C with a -3C wind chill. The outlook is for five days of similar weather.

Just been for a short walk. The wind has got up but it's mild and dry . However the cloud that's coming in is black and there is just a hint of rain in the air. It's not in the forecast but you could feel it on the surface of my padded shirt when I got back.
