Very low Kev..... It's a nasty day out there, I feel sorry for anyone who has to work in it. I shall be cowering indoors!
Still dark out there at 08:00. I shall go back to bed.... :biggrin2:

Dreary, wet and windy morning, not as windy as it has been but windy enough.

Our tomato greenhouse blew over during the night despite having two rather large plant pots in the bottom full of soil.

The wrong sort of wind Ian.....
Looking at the gloom and heavy rain through the window from the warmth of the kitchen I consoled myself with this thought. Tuesday the 21st of December, 13days away, is the winter solstice. The 22nd is the shortest day and after that the days start to lengthen. We start the run down to next summer!
So cheer up! Things will get better.

It was still breezy and raining at 20:00 last night. First thing this morning it was calm cool and we had a clear sky, still the same. The glass has risen to 991mb and is still rising. The forecast is for an odd light shower and sunny intervals around noon but rain setting in as it goes dark tonight. The moderate, mainly SW wind is moderate and gives a high of 6C and a low of 2C with a chill of -4C. We have a bright cold day tomorrow and then enter a spell of milder wetter weather.

It wasn't bad at all Gloria, I had to do a bit of shopping late morning and had ten minutes on bookie watch. Quite acceptable for the time of year.
By 20:00 it was raining but first thing this morning it was dry and the sky was clear but no frost. The glass is down slightly on 987 but rising. The forecast is for sunny intervals and dry, clouding over in the late afternoon. The mainly WNW wind is brisk at times and gives a high of 5C and a low of 2C with a -5C chill at times. Expect similar unsettled weather next week except that from Sunday on it will be milder, we could see 10C.

Yesterday afternoon was dry and cold. At 20:00 it was still dry with some scattered cloud. This morning first thing it was calm, cold and slightly more scattered cloud, there is more cloud now. The glass is on 1007mb and rising. The forecast is for a cloudy start turning to rain by early morning which will be with us all day. The mainly WSW wind is light to moderate giving a high of 6C and a low of 5C with a chill of -3C. The outlook is for warmer unsettled weather with some rain.

Yesterday it rained from late morning on and so I stayed in and cooked. At 20:00 it was dry after recent rain and first thing this morning it was the same but milder and broken cloud. It's the same now and the glass is steady on 1008mb. The forecast is for a cloudy day but no rain beyond an odd spot occasionally. The SW wind is light to moderate and gives a high of 11C and a low of 6C with a chill of -3C in the afternoon. The outlook is for slightly cooler cloudy and dare I say boring weather....
Later at 05:30. We have rain..... :biggrin2: .
I've just listened to the shipping forecast and it's worth noting that in the weather for Northern waters there are many violent storm 11 forecasts.

Yesterday afternoon broke down somewhere because at 20:00 it was wet but not actually raining. Same first thing this morning and no change since. The glass is up on 1012 and rising. The forecast is for a few sunny intervals in the cloud until early afternoon when it starts raining. The mainly westerly wind is light and gives a high of 7C and a low of 3C with only a slight wind chill. The outlook is for similar dull weather for three days and then becoming colder and murkier.

I was passing on my way to the waste recycling centre as you were leaving your bench. It rained on me as I was unloading a pile of cardboard then stopped as soon as I set off for home.

One of these days you will be able to swing into the car park and have a few minutes light entertainment. :biggrin2:
Yesterday afternoon was not wet, just occasional spatters of rain. At 20:00 it was calm cloudy and damp but drying. This morning first thing it was the same and there has been no change since. The glass is up on 1018mb. The forecast is for a misty start and a clouded day but dry. The mainly SW wind starts light and increases to moderate giving a high of 8C and a low of 7C with a -3C wind chill. The outlook is for similar weather, getting colder and more foggy.....

Yesterday was an uneventful grey day and that was the story at 20:00, throughout the night and this morning. The glass is steady on 1020mb and the forecast is one word, cloudy. The only excitement is the steady moderate SW wind which might gust to 30mph this morning. It gives a high of 9C, a low of 7C tonight and a -4C chill at times. The outlook is for another day like this tomorrow and then colder misty weather for the rest of the week.

Yesterday the weather was much brighter than was forecast. At 20:00 it was mild, calm, cloudy and dry. First thing this morning it was the same and there has been no change since. The glass is up on 1030mb and rising. The forecast is again cloudy, one wonders if it will again be wrong. The mainly WSW wind is light and gives us a high of 9C and a low of 4C with a -2C chill. The outlook is for colder, dull but dry weather. No big changes, the shortest day is next Tuesday....

London is best described as Mild, or maybe dank. Dampish in the atmosphere, darkish in the sky, warm enough not to need the heating on full blast and little wind so no need to wrap the coat and gloves around. As the artic ice cleves away while it gets hot in the summer, and parts of Australia flood recently, while I miss the crisp cold Decembers past I will take this, I expect a change to Cold sometime around new year. Parts of England have the centre of the low presure coming , and the winds remain down south a sort of south easterly warm upflow. Might get a bit wetter next week

Bit odd to have high pressure and cloud cover in winter ( well its not unusual but not always typical), keeps those still winds, good day for working outside although the daylight length is minimal.
