I think we had East coast weather and a west coast forecast, a sunny morning and a bright overcast afternoon. At 20:00 it was calm, still mild, clearing and an almost full Moon (it will be full on Sunday). This morning it's the same with a thick mist. The glass is up again on 1037mb. The forecast is a foggy start, sunshine midday and bright overcast all afternoon. The east wind will be very light giving a high of 7C and a low of 3C tonight with a -2C wind chill as the day wears on. The outlook is for cooler dull weather.

Yesterday we had dense fog in Barlick but as soon as we got beyond Skipton full sun burning a hard frost off. At 20:00 it was calm dry and clouded over. First thing this morning it was the same and a mist was forming. It hasn't changed since. The glass is up and steady on 1037mb. The forecast is for a foggy but dry day. The light east wind gives a high of 6C and a low of 2C with a -3C wind chill. The outlook for the next six days is very similar weather to today but colder.

Fog never really lifted in Foulridge today, it was reasonably clear between Kelbrook and Salterforth this afternoon.

Yesterday afternoon was dull and at 20:00 we had dense fog. During the night it cleared and this morning we have a calm, clear , frosty morning with a brilliant full moon. The glass has fallen slightly to 1034mb. The forecast is for it to stay clear and be sunny until noon but then fog returns. The light east wind gives us a high of 5C and a low of 3C with a -3C chill as the day wears on. The outlook is for a week of similar quiet weather, if anything getting colder.

Yesterday the fog returned early and we had a cold damp afternoon. At 20:00 the sky was beginning to clear and first thing this morning we had very low thin cloud which didn't quite obscure the full moon. It has developed now into the very lightest of mizzles. The glass is down on 1027mb. The forecast is for an overcast day. The light east wind gives a high of 5C and a low of 0C with a -2C chill. The outlook for the next six days is for broadly similar weather.

Yesterday afternoon was exactly as per the forecast, dull! At 20:00 it was calm, overcast and cold. This morning first thing it was the same and hasn't changed since. The glass is down again on 1023mb but rising. The forecast is for it to be cloudy but breaking to sunny intervals once it gets light. The constant light ESE wind gives a high of 2C and a low of -2C with a -2C chill most of the day making it feel like below freezing. The outlook is mixed, warmer and rain on Thursday and then back to cold dull weather for Xmas.

Yesterday the sunny intervals didn't get to us and the day was a rerun of Monday, dull all day. At 20:00 it was clearing but still mainly cloudy. This morning first thing it was calm, clear and cold with a brilliant moon, it's still the same. The glass is down again on 1017mb. The forecast is for a cloudy day with light rain coming in as it gets dark this afternoon. The light East wind gives us a high of 3C and a low of 2C. The wind chill will be -3C for most of the day making it feel like freezing so wrap up warm. Warmer and wetter tomorrow but then gradually getting colder and brighter over Xmas.

Today is going to be like the last two days but a bit dryer. We ended yesterday with light mizzle at 20:00 but first thing this morning it was calm and dry with enough haze to give the moon a halo, it's more hazy now and a suspicion of mizzle in the air. The glass is on 1001mb and trying to rise. The forecast is for an overcast day but dry. The East wind will become brisk gusting to 40mph later and this will give a high of 3C and a low of 0C. The wind chill will be -6C for most of the day making it feel sub-zero. There is a warning of possible snow for tomorrow and the rest of the outlook is very unsettled and possibly wet. A couple of days for staying inside!

I was surprised by the amount of traffic on the roads.

You're not wrong there, I've just been out to put some wind in the car tyres and top up the washer fluid, I can't feel my fingers now. Definitely warm coat, hat and gloves when we head to Barlick for lunch.

Not quite Cath but it's -5C with the wind chill and there is a chance the rain will become snow..... Deep Joy. Margaret had 44C yesterday and they have 39C today in Perth.
Yesterday was a dull day and got damp at times but never wet. At 20:00 it was drizzling and it's the same now. odd flakes of snow in the wind. tha glass is down a touch on 998mb. The forecast is for snow/rain until noon then fog and mist for the rest of the day. The East wind is moderate and gusts to 30mph giving a high of 2C and a low of 2C with a -6C wind chill during this morning but then easing a little but always feeling sub-zero. Tomorrow will be warmer, dull and dry then warmer weather but a lot of rain for the rest of the week.

Margaret says Perth will get 41C today.....
Yesterday was very cold, wet and nasty and I never went out of the house, bugger the exercise! At 20:00 it was cold and damp but not actually raining. First thing this morning it was the same and hasn't changed since. The glass is down on 990mb. The forecast is for fog all day but there is only a trace visible at the moment. The light easterly wind gives us a high and low of 5C with a -2C chill. From tomorrow the weather warms considerably into double figures and we can expect a lot of wind and rain.
Later at 05;15. I'm beginning to wonder if we have a West coast forecast and East coast weather as happens so often in Barlick. I've just been out and there is no fog, the sky is as clear as a bell and we have a brilliant crescent moon. Very welcome and I hope it holds...

We never saw the fog yesterday and the afternoon was quite pleasant. I stood outside talking to Mo in his car and it wasn't cold at all. At 20:00 it was calm dry and cloudy and this morning it's the same. The glass has dropped again and is down on 979mb, looking a bit ominous! The forecast is for it to start raining before 06:00 and to clear to an overcast but dry afternoon. The wind starts light as ENE but by this evening is WSW and strengthening. It gives a high of 8C and a low of 5C with a -2C chill. Tomorrow and the succeeding days will be even warmer, into double figures. We shall pay with more rain and stronger winds, Atlantic weather to end the year.

London is yucky damp and heading to warmish for the time of year, indeed forecast to hit records, will such high temps be evidenced further north (at least in terms of records for the year). The rain takes the edge off being able to do much pleasantly outdoors though , oddments of Gardening and car washing demand my attention over the next few days.
