The Met Office weather app is showing 20C at midnight tonight, it's a warm one. There's a bit going on further north near Hawes, lots of lightning strikes.

Heavy rain in Padiham just before 8pm, nothing but a few distant rumbles of thunder here so far.

Yesterday was cloudier than of late. At 20:00 we had 100% cloud cover but dry. This morning it's clear and calm, no dew and no slug trails either. The glass is up a trifle on 1020mb. The forecast is for full sun and perhaps the chance of a light shower this evening. The wind is a very light and variable easterly that give a high of 28C a low of 14C and no wind chill. Tomorrow we get the first of some cooler weather with rain later in the week perhaps.

It's possible, I'm in Foulridge and a bit higher up than Barnoldswick and have seen different weather. Looks like the heavy rain went around there too. Clear skies here this morning and no movement in the trees at all.

The difference between Foulridge and Barlick is minimal. Look at the canal and think of it as a spirit level. Foulridge wharf and Coates wharf in Barlick are on the same level. (As is Salterforth!)

I've just been onto Town Square to do my veggie shopping. It feels warmer than yesterday. Nice to get back into a relatively cool house....

It's quite pleasant in my cellar, I may put a bed down there :biggrin2:
The rain looks to be doing the same as yesterday, bouncing off the pavements at 7pm in Padiham. Following the weather radar it doesn't look to be coming this way...

Yesterday afternoon was hot but later on we had cloud but no rain. At 20:00 full sun was coming in under the cloud. This morning we have a light breeze, it is cooler and there are scattered clouds. The glass is down on 1918mb and falling. The forecast is for a day of scattered cloud and sunny intervals but no rain. The constant east wind is moderate and gives a high of 22C and a low of 13C with a -2 wind hill this afternoon. The 5 day outlook is for similar, more clouded weather, cooler but no rain forecast as yet.
Looks like the end of high summer! I'll be glad to see it a bit cooler and dare I say it, we could do with a good soak of rain.....

A bit of thunder rolling around early evening last night. Didn't get up to us, Brierfield and deeper into East Lancs area was where the lightning was.

Yesterday was cooler and welcome. At 20:00 it was overcast and calm. First thing this morning it's overcast calm and dry. The glass is down on 1010mb. The forecast is for an overcast but dry day. The moderate east wind is constant and gives a high of 20C and a low of 12C with a -2C chill most of the day. The 5 day outlook is for similar temperatures and an increasing prospect of rain. My thought this morning is that not long ago it would have been daylight now..... 153 shopping days until Xmas....... :biggrin2:
Later, at 05:15. I've had a short walk. The moderate east wind is making it feel cool and is sending the broken cloud from the East over at a good pace. Different weather now.....

Completely different day, shirt and waistcoat today. Very pleasant change. News comes in of lightning strikes and storms in the south. It looks as though we have been lucky and got the better end of the stick.

Yesterday afternoon was uniformly clouded but dry. At 20:00 it was the same. First thing this morning we had 50% cloud cover, scattered low cloud but still dry. the glass is down to 1006mb. The forecast is for sunny intervals for most of the day. The NE wind is mainly light and gives a high of 22C and a low of 13C with a -1C chill all day. The outlook for the next five days is similar but getting a touch cooler and more chance of rain after tomorrow.
Later at 06:00... I have been for a short walk. It's calm, dry and we have broken cloud. I can see how sunny intervals could happen.

Yesterday afternoon was pleasant with sunny intervals. At 20:00 low sun was coming in from the west under the cloud. First thing this morning we had a clear sly with scattered cloud and a full moon. Now we still have a big full moon in clear sky to the west but in the east we have cloud coming in. The glass is steady on 1006mb. The forecast is for a dry and mainly sunny day. The light to moderate west wind gives a high of 22C and a low of 13C with a -2C chill later in the afternoon. The five day forecast gives a dry day tomorrow but after that cooler rainy weather.

Yesterday afternoon was sunny but close. At 20:00 we had a bit of cloud but still low sun coming in from the west. This morning first thing it was calm clear and we had a scatter of light cloud but a big full moon. It's still calm and we have a moon but there is a bit more light cloud about. The glass is down slightly on 1004MB. The forecast is for an overcast day with rain possible this afternoon and a yellow warning of thunder from 09:00 to 18:00 tomorrow. The constant light west wind gives a high of 20C and a low of 14C with no chill. Tomorrow and Thursday there will be more rain but tapering off Friday. Saturday Sunday and Monday overcast and cool but dry.

The forecast yesterday was correct, it started raining at about 15:30 and was still raining at 20:00. First thing this morning we had broken cloud, the moon shining through the gaps and light rain. I've just looked out, the ragged cloud is heavier now, we have a light wind but at the moment it's not raining. The glass is down on 999mb. The forecast is for rain all day with the possibility of thunder storms until 18:00. The constant light to moderate WSW wind gives a high of 16C and a low of 11C with up to -2C wind chill this afternoon. The five day outlook is for unseasonal cool changeable weather.

Yesterday afternoon was steady light rain, same at 29:00 and this morning we have a light breeze and light rain. It's cool. The glass is down a touch on 998mb. the forecast is for an overcast day with rain at any time possibly heavy at times. The constant moderate WSW wind will gust-3 to almost 35mph for much of the day giving us a high of 15C and a low of 12 C with a -3C chill. The five day outlook is for similar unseasonably cool weather but after tomorrow, mainly dry.
