Yesterday was a perfect early Spring day, lots of people sat out in the Square and I had some good distanced chats with friends. At 20:00 it was only just going dark, it was calm, mild, dry and light broken overcast. This morning we have an almost clear sky, just one or two scattered wisps of cloud and a brilliant moon. The glass is down a touch on 1017mb. The forecast is for another day of full sun. The wind is light and variable and swings about a bit but is basically westerly and gives a high of 17C and a low of 5C with a negligible chill. The outlook is for another two sunny days then a few cooler days and a chance of rain but nothing to worry about. It looks as though April will come in quietly. :biggrin2:

Beautiful morning, has the makings of being warmer than yesterday, and that was quite acceptable to sit outside in.

Yesterday was another perfect Spring day. Lovely walk in the sun. At 20:00 we had a light breeze, an overcast sky but still mild. It's the same this morning. The glass is up on 1023mb and rising. The forecast is for a dry overcast day with sun later on from noon onwards. The brisk ENE wind gives a high of 19C and a low of 1C tonight with as much as -5C wind chill at times this morning. Similar colder weather for the next five days but dry and with sunny intervals.
We are into April and it has always been a month of changeable weather.

Very thin wind yesterday afternoon. At 20:00 it was almost calm, clouded over and colder than of late. This morning it was the same and definitely colder! Since then the sky has started to clear. The glass is up on almost 1028mb. The forecast is for a clear sunny day. The light to moderate NE wind gives us a high of 9C and a low of 1C tonight with a wind chill of -3C which means it will feel like below freezing until noon so wrap up well! The outlook is for it to stay dry but get colder for the next five days.

It remained bright and cold yesterday and at 20:00 the wind had dropped and it was dry but cold with broken cloud. Same this morning and still cold. The glass is up slightly on 1030mb. The forecast is for a dry day, cloudy until midday then gradually clearing to give full sun in the late afternoon and evening. The light NE wind is constant and gives a high of 11C and a low of 2C tonight with a -3C wind chill despite the light wind. It will feel very cold until the sun gets control later today. The outlook is for similar weather for the next five days but much colder as winter has a last bite at us!

Somerset, and especially Taunton Vale, used to be well known for its mild, calm weather and of course for its apple orchards. Climate change has made a big difference in the 25 years we've lived in the county. The weather is much more variable now and, worst of all, we get frequent strong winds with average speeds of 40mph but very gusty and easily able to strip the trees of their blossom.

Yesterday was chilly but bright in the afternoon . At 20:00 it was calm, cold and a clear sky. Still clear this morning, a light breeze and cold but dry. The glass was steady yesterday but has dropped to 1026mb this morning. The forecast is for a misty start and then bright cloud and sunny intervals all day. The wind starts as a light westerly and soon develops into a brisker wind with gusts up to 30mph. This gives a high of 10C and a low of -2C with -4C wind chill most of the day. The outlook is for two very cold days and then warming slightly but still cold.

Yesterday was bright but always cold. At 20:00 it was dry, very cold under a clear sky and a wind was getting up. Later it became strong and blew all night. This morning it's very cold and windy with it, dry at the moment. The glass fell but is rising now and on 1011mb. The forecast is for a snow shower and then a sunny start followed by a clouded day. The wind is a strong NW gusting to 35mph and giving a high of 4C a low of -3C and a wind chill of -6C meaning that at times this morning we will experience -7C, that makes it a cold day so wrap up warm! Even colder tomorrow and then a very gradual warm up but still cold weather.
06:00. We've had the shower, it fell as snow but melted immediately it hit the ground. It's dry again now.

In the shade with the wind blowing it was more like -7C here Kev!
A bright cold day and at 20:00 it was clear cold and breezy. Same this morning but colder. The glass is up on 1017mb. The forecast is a rerun of yesterday, sun in the morning and cloudier in the afternoon. the wind is brisk and NW with gusts to 30mph. The high is 3C and the low -3C tonight with a wind chill of -6C most of the day. One treat forecast is a snow shower at 17:00 with a temperature of -6C. Enjoy! The outlook is for slightly warmer but still unseasonably cold weather.

Yesterday stuck to the forecast and on the whole was bitterly cold. At 20:00 it was clear and cold and we had a light breeze, same this morning but colder, definitely a frost. The glass hasn't moved and is still on 1017mb. The forecast is for it to be sunny and dry until midday than clouding in for the afternoon. The constant NW wind gives us a high of 5C and a low of 1C tonight but with a -4C chill all day. At the moment this equates to -6C and will feel like sub zero all day so wrap up warm! The forecast is for slightly warmer bright weather but night frosts.

Yesterday was the same as the days before. I had a walk at dinnertime and it was bright but a very cold wind. At 20:00 it was almost calm, dry under a clear sky and not as cold. First thing this morning it was warmer and we had light rain. Just popped out and we still have light rain and a bit more wind. The glass is down a touch on 1015mb. The forecast is for rain at almost any time today. The wind is a brisk SW gusting to 35mph giving a high of 7C and a low of 3C with a -5C wind chill but never feeling like sub-zero! Three more night frosts in the outlook and then the weather starts to warm slightly next week.

Yesterday the rain ceased around 13:00 so I had a dry walk into town to the chemists. By 20:00 it was raining again and was the same first thing this morning. It is still damp but has stopped raining. The glass is down on 1006mb. The forecast is for the rain to be over by 07:00 and we will then have a day of bright overcast with sunny intervals but no rain. The wind is a light westerly tending to NW later and gives a high of 7C and a low tonight of -4C with a wind chill of as much as -4C at times. Shield those tender plants for the next couple of nights because the outlook isn't frost free yet!

I looked up last April's weather for this day...
Thu Apr 09, 2020 5:53 am
Yesterday was another nice day.... This morning first thing we had 50% scattered high cloud backlit by a super moon. Later as we went out the cloud was more scattered with large clear patches. We've had a pleasant walk on a calm, mild morning. Not a soul about only a few cars. The glass is steady on 1023mb. The forecast gives an overcast day but the sky gives the lie to this, there are large clear patches at the moment so we could have a sunnier day than the forecast. The wind is a constant east wind, light now but moderate later. The high is 14C and the low 7C with a -2C wind chill when the wind is strongest. The outlook is for warmer weather for the next three days then brighter but cooler weather for a couple of days. All good weather.

A bit better than what we are having!
