Lovely sunny day, spent fishing on a small pond on cheshire farmland. Over twenty species of bird life noted, lots of darters and dragonflies over the water, but none willing to be photographed. The fish played ball and over 150 were caught the largest an 11 lb Mirror Carp. Down side I drove away and left my bag of bait boxes hanging on a fence post. Hearing the farmers words leave only footsteps, I returned at tea time to collect them giving the dogs a welcome trip out. The bonus of the return visit was filling two tupperware containers with blackberries, and noting a Walnut and Sweet chestnut tree loaded with fruit, The farmer says others are watching these, so not all mine. Nature has been bountiful this year.

Mrs Tiz snapped these a couple of days ago here in Somerset, a Bush Cricket and a Buff Tip moth caterpillar. The Cricket was about an inch long and the caterpillar two inches.

The common coot with his very special feet. The coot can give an impression of walking on water, when they are treading on floating or sub surface weed, UK resident though others may join them in the winter from abroad, and vice versa.
