Becky, who comes once a week to pamper the ponies, took the photo. She has a pocket full of tasty treats and they love her! She has the knack of photographing horses and dogs.

I sent it to the kids in Oz..... I said it was Sparky on the left, was I right?

Now to dogs. I still cannot see any reason at all to own one - except the sort that run at Belle Vue.

I came across this today, and words fail me. . . . . except 'what could possibly go wrong?'

Roxy is the softest staff x akita who's relationship with the other resident dog has broken down and they can no longer be together.
This is a heart-breaking decision for her owner but the only option sadly ??
Roxy can be a bolshy madam but she just loves being centre of attention so a home where she would be the only dog would be best for her.
She is a proper people dog, loves being around you, at your feet, next to you on the sofa even on your knee! We think she would be better with older children, Roxy loves cuddles, she loves being brushed and groomed, she’s a bit of a pamper princess.
She loves to play ball but you need 2 or 3 cause she just can’t let them go once they’re in her mouth, Roxy can fit 2 in at once but she’s working on 3!
Don’t put a cup to tea down though because the little bugger will drink it! I usually make one for her too.
Roxy has even has a few tricks, she plays dead if you shout bang and point at her, she barks, sneezes and gives a paw on command, she also plays hide and seek.
I think she would be ok around calm dogs after careful introductions, because of her bossy nature, another dominant dog would not work.
Roxy will chase livestock so she would need to be on a lead at all times around sheep and cattle.
She can be strong on the lead so I use a halti which makes for a much better walk!
There’s much more I could tell you about my very special girl but I’ll tell you all about her if you have a Roxy sized heart and would like to meet her.
This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
Roxy is clean and non destructive in the home and fine to be left for a few hours alone.
Roxy needs a pet free home.

That's from Pendle Dogs in Need, they are very careful about who their dogs go to. Our Bruce came via Pendle Dogs as did Bing Bong Bella the 3 legged puss cat. My go to charity, I think they do an amazing job.

I don't normally get involved with pets but with a bit of time to kill i had a quick look at their website found by tracing back their e-mail address. .
Dogs. They look genuine to me. They don't look the sort of outfit that flogs a dog to the first buyer. both Staffies and Akita are very popular single breads. But what do I know?

No problem, I thought it was a bit odd that you were thinking that way especially after seeing how much you thought of your son's dog.

Exactly...she even got her own set of Christmas Lights this year!

Someone around here has a new young cat...and it seems to be in hunt mode all the time...and it wanders far and wide. I do wish people wouldn’t let their cats roam about.

My problems stem from the cats that are in permanent crapping mode....

A resort for fur-faced residents...

Poor Bruce has been very anxious and stressed out by the changes in our routine over the last couple weeks and is obviously picking up on our anxiety levels. The cats couldn't give a damn.

2020 has not been that brilliant, and one event was the Wife's Cat died. She (the cat) , was taken in when a next door neighbour found they were feeding here, but no idea where she came from, as our previous tabby had died , the mother-in-law took this one in for a while, before the cat moved with us, first to Leeds, then onto Otley (she loved the back garden looking out into woodland she explored - she less liked the other cats coming over from accross the road), then Barnoldswick where she made the sofa her main home with excursions along the back street, down to Burnley - where more cats from a nearby farm and new neighbours annoyed her, As the wife was on courses in london , the cat was brough down to my mums, where she refused to travel back from , burying hereself under the boxes around the sideboard (for a small flat it holds a lot of items) and she settled down for a couple of years, she was probably 16 and it was thought she had stomach cancer (which would have been treatable for a short while, but rather expensive), strangely she got slightly more active towards the end, enjoying short walks and runs outside along the first floor walkway of mums block and noting the pidgeons on the shed rooves in london.

One of the cats that came over and caused a little annoyance was this fella, now adopted and chipped by the wife , who also gained the thin cat behind from a friend whose daughter became allergic to the cat. so they hang out together having coped with the move to Stockport, where a lodger cat has moved in , plus four additional ones that visit the front garden on a rota through the day they have all worked out.
