Fitted bottom sheets are notorious for collecting extra items under the elastic too...I often peg them on the line, then check the pouches formed due to elastic. I had a missing sock that I knew would turn up one day! Then I had a bump in the corner of my clean fitted sheet. Ahhaaaa!

Cathy, you're ignoring the fact I have to get my duvet in it!
I don't have them Maz but I can see how it could happen. Socks can be very elusive things!

It's called a 'shelfie'. When someone posts a photo I find the background objects are worth looking at too. I noticed the Pam Ayres. She was at RAF Changi about the same time as i was.

Today's tip. If you can't access BBC Sounds 'Listen Live' feature, click on 'pop up player', that cures it! I tried it this morning and have my internet radio again. Why the bloody hell didn't they give us a heads up? They have made this change and not told anyone.

If you have a vote, don't waste it. Think of all the good people who fought for this privilege and honour their memory by using the power they gave you. Individual votes do count!

Is today the only day that you can vote? It just seems strange to me that you are voting on a week-day. Must be hard for workers and shift workers. We always vote on a Saturday.

It's always on a Thursday here. For no particular reason I guess - just that's how it's always been.
You can vote from 7.00 am until 10.00 pm- enables nearly everyone who wants to, and you can appoint a proxy or have a postal vote if that doesn't meet your needs. It's not compulsory - but why should it be? We should be free to abstain, just as MP's do in Parliamentary votes.

You are free to abstain here too, but you must turn up anyway and have your name crossed off and take the voting papers to the booth. You don't have to fill them in, just post them in the box like everyone else. So you must go through the motions, so may as well vote! ( those in hospitals/prisons/nursing homes etc are all accounted for). If you are travelling you must still vote.
if you don't have your name crossed off, you get fined.

And if you don't vote, don't moan about the outcome. You had your chance. Simple as that.

Every time you move house you must update your details with the electoral roll, regardless of there being an upcoming election or not. You get a very nasty letter if you don't do it within 3 weeks. I know! I had the forms in my bag but hadn't got round to posting them yet when I got the nasty letter. ( I swear, you can't even fart here without the government knowing!)

We have just come home from 24 hours in the city. It was packed to crush level with humans. How can anyone live in that environment? Happy to be home in the country this afternoon. I can see for miles, have not seen a human being and all I can hear is the ticking of clocks in various rooms and birds twittering outside. The odd car driving by. We love our quiet life...

This is western anti-China propaganda as reported by the western news. There was a serious terrorist problem in Xinjiang. Ask the Xinjiang residents who were the victims of indiscriminate terrorist attacks by ETIM and haven't seen any for at least 3 years as a result of these anti-terrorism measures. Poor Muslims, simple people of little education and opportunities, were being brainwashed into thinking it was good to be a martyr and go to paradise. What right minded person believes this rubbish? The Chinese government has provided education and opportunities for them to lift themselves out of poverty and they are doing this. Watch the video here
