Indeed it is, the road is closed from the junction with Wellhouse Rd and the Junction with Coates Avenue. Just tried getting to Aldi and it's a no go. Air Ambulance is in attendance and according to FB it's a car crash due to the driver suffering a cardiac arrest. I hope they make it OK.

Afternoon coffee in the Town Square with daughter Susan. Such a normal civilised thing to do.

Sadly not, police are asking for witnesses. I presume this is to ensure all is as it appears. I don't know him personally but he was local.

Not sure I would have the courage, but good luck to them. It would be wonderful to see our Earth from so far up.
I know I'm in my own little world, but it's OK... they know me here. :)

I won another tenner on the postcode lottery yesterday, that's twice in two months, three times in all.

Men's final at Wimbledon as well as the football, Branson on the edge of space, how exciting can it get in one day. :extrawink:

Good stuff Ian, I've had the 'exciting news about your ticket' email, from the National Lottery, twice in the past month but it's only been £3 each time :biggrin2:
Better than nowt though.

I've carefully researched, and then composed replies to three threads today, then not published them as I thought they would annoy people, which isn't a good thing. How thoughtful. . . .

Naahh, go on David, forecast Ingerland to lose 3-1.....
Thanks Peter, I just watched Branston do his 280,000 ft and land safely.
My personal event was the arrival of Muthomi on the bench next to me as I monitored the bookies.... He had noticed me as he was motoring by and so called in for a catch-up....

I can breathe again - Kieran T. waited and waited and waited - then put an inch perfect pass to someone who scored. That'll do. . . . .

Long way to go yet though.

He's just been taken off now - looks as if it was pre-planned.

I can relax now - if he's off - he can't take penalties.

PS missed the Italian equaliser - popped out to get a bottle of Aimone Vino d'Italia . . . .

The fact I was wrong, I predicted 3-1 for Italy but it was 3-2. It'll be interesting to see how the politicians explain their failure....

I lost interest after Kieran came off. My abiding memory of the game will be the world class level of cheating by the Italians, and the vigourous defence of the practice by a gent who phoned in to LBC this morning. "We could not tolerate a player getting near to our goal". I have a theory about the penalties, but perhaps best to keep it to myself.

England lost a game of football, Djokovic won a game of tennis and Branson completed his sub orbital lob, now history, crack on.

Branson only took 73 years to follow what Albert II the monkey did in 1948 shoved on top of a V2 rocket, unfortunately for Albert II the parachute failed on re-entry. The very first creatures into space were fruit flies which survived their trip on a V2. Let's hear it for the fruit flies. :extrawink:

An outage just after 15:00. I looked at the lightning map but nothing showing. Perhaps it was just a bad switch somewhere...

:good: I'd noticed a bit of fluctuation earlier on this morning, could have been the same fault building. Not surprising really, I wonder how much original cable is still being used from 100 years ago.....

Would be helpful if they just cleared the drains. The Golders Green area I think goes into the Brent. The ones around Barnes are low- lying and if the Thames is on full tide at Hammersmith there is nowhere other than non-existent interceptors for excess rainfall to go ( if it was low tide its the blocked drains)

We will have a notified outage tomorrow 10am to 2.00pm if it all goes to plan. Permanent fix for an emergency repair at the end of the street when someone damaged one of the feed cables.

If you get that sort of reaction from London after a heavy shower of rain, just think what it would be like if the barrage had been over-topped. Londoners have no magic pass, they are going to be increasingly affected by weather events.

That's one of the reasons they should move the capitol and government buildings elsewhere. They are going to be the first to sink into the mire. Some would say they already have. :extrawink:
