Home-made Chicken and Veg Soup.
(at hubby's request)
it seems we eat Salad for six months of the year and Soup for the other six.

Big mess at Maz's today!

Was making Minestrone Soup and decided to add can of tomatoes. As I pulled the ring pull, lid exploded off in my hand and contents went EVERYWHERE! Luckily missed the ceiling ( which are vaulted ceilings and would have been a ladder job to get up and clean). But the tomatoes and juice hit everything else...cupboard doors, hob, tiles, countertops, oven front, floor.
Covered me too...earholes to knee caps.
I even had to clean the apples in the fruit bowl and Febby's spare pair of specs.

Big clean up job.
The soup is amazing though...

Maz, sounds as though the can was blown due to deterioration. Good job it didn't go in the soup!
Mel, home-made fast food kick?
One bowl of stew left. Tea will be a fish finger butty. Eating too much, weight creeping up.... Must be more disciplined!

Oh no Maz, what a disaster! At least exploded tomatoes must be easy to see (unless you have a red kitchen...).

I only had a banana for dinner yesterday and a fish finger butty with an egg on for tea plus another banana, a pear and two apples. I know that in theory this is all wrong because in effect I fasted for 24 hours eating only one banana but I didn't feel hungry or have any ill effects so I shall pursue it. In a way I'm following the same regime as the fasting diet but fell into it by accident. I shall do the same today and see how it goes, the last frozen stew out of the freezer for tea today which means that apart from the frozen peas and fish fingers (still on a BOGOF) in the top drawer the freezer is empty, defrosted and ready for Steart's refill on Friday.

Same regime yesterday but tea was the last of the frozen stew so the freezer is now empty and ready for Stewart later today. I shall see what tempts me at the butcher's this morning.

Indeed Stanley. We are in the process of emptying the contents of our garage into the shed or down the incinerator so that we can give it a makeover. We've been having quick meals all week so that we could make the most of the lighter evenings.

Tonights tea will be oatcakes (of the Staffordshire variety) with bacon and cheese.

Fish chips and mushy peas, to replace the energy used emulsioning the ceiling for the third time, never ever buy cheap paint, it's just not worth it.

Went to RR for the Buffet Curry Night. Excellent food, excellent value. A choice of 10 curries, £10.50 to eat as much as you want. :drinks2:

Don't tempt me Kev! Had a butty at dinnertime yesterday and a meat pie and fruit for tea. (I'm a bit wary of this 24 hour fast) Today will be something very light at dinnertime and steak pudding and mashed potatoes for tea.

Abstemious day yesterday, a few cashew nuts for dinner and a good tea, a steak pudding and mashed potatoes with two pears for pudding.
I have a bowl full of mashed potatoes left and it needs eating today, at the moment I'm tending towards potato cakes with a poached egg on top.

Kev, funnily enough the mash at teatime was accompanied by a small tin of Mackerel in tomato sauce.

Have just finished making a big pot of Soup. Also made a rather yummy looking Salmon and Spinach Quiche...but that can be cut up and put in the freezer because I promised the boss we would have Soup tonight.

Fish finger butties again. Boring for some but I enjoyed them. A meal for less than £1.

Fish finger butties are the food of the gods, but it must be butter on the bread, afficionados of this delicacy were once few, but now we are legion.
