Pie and peas for breakfast. I slow cooked a mutton shank and cooked veggies so tea was the shank and veggies.

Staying literally to the thread title - I just had a cup of tea to which I added, on impulse, a small slice of root ginger, chopped up small which happened to be nearby. Fished out and discarded with the tea bag, before drinking.

What do you know - It's nice. I think I'd do it again.

PS Might try some in the 'gourmet porridge' next?
Here's a tip never peel root ginger - absolutely no need - just chop or grate it.

Pork pie and veggies for breakfast. I cooked sausages and had sausage and veggies for tea.
Must eat my way into the fridge, there are more mutton chops on the way!

I cooked sausage and had small helpings of sausage and veggies X two for breakfast and tea. I cooked eight mutton chops in the slow cooker and separated the fat off them. They are ready for de-boning and the fat cutting off this morning. (Lovely meat and of course totally grass fed.)

The gravy from the chops was used to fortify the sausage and veggies which was the main act for breakfast and tea.

Tapas tea last night was chorizo in a tomato and onion sauce finished with a good glug of cabsav. King prawns in butter, fresh garlic, sea salt, freshly ground black pepper and some dried mixed herbs. There was also a tomato and mozzarella salad dressed with fresh basil leaves, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. A small side salad and some cheese coleslaw all washed down with a cabsav.

Our Jack will be coming round after work tomorrow to help with shifting some of the bedroom furniture back. We will feed him for his trouble, I have a batch of pork and chorizo meatballs in tomato sauce that I cooked last week. It will be quick and easy to bubble up some spaghetti and we have the necessary cheese toppings to finish the job.

Barlic Raj tonight, it's Wednesday Buffet. There's currently 50% off all other food on a Tuesday or Wednesday, makes for a cheap tea.

I had sausage and veggies twice for breakfast and tea. Cooked the last of the mutton chops. The gravy is in the fridge ready for the fat lifting off and the chops are ready for deboning and de-fatting.

Mutton and peas with veggies twice for breakfast and tea. The nice thing about the mutton and peas is that it gets better each day.
Can anyone remember the old song?
"Pease pudding hot
Pease pudding cold
Pease pudding in the pot
Nine days old
Some like it hot
Some like it cold
Some like it in the pot

I can vouch for that. I made a lamb stew with a piece of leg of lamb from the freezer. Tonight will be day three. Delicious - but not for breakfast !
