I didn't know about the lady with the yellow camper van. That's terrible and the police should be forced to investigate properly and find who it was, then throw the book at them. She isn't the best paid person in the world and doing a job few would want. She deserves protection.

Yet another dam problem! :extrawink:

How crass can you get? How did we get to a state where big companies can't see they're being stupid? :nooo:
`Deliveroo April Fools' joke backfires in France' LINK
`French Deliveroo customers who received fake bills for hundreds of euros' worth of pizza have failed to see the funny side of the April Fools' joke. On 1 April thousands of customers of the delivery platform across France got confirmation emails for orders totalling over €450 (£380; $530). Many took to social media to express anger at the stunt. Late on Thursday Deliveroo informed its customers via Twitter and email that it had not been serious. "We confirm that it was an April Fool's joke," the clarification read. "You can enjoy the evening by ordering the pizza of your choice."..

Peter, It makes you wonder about the mentality of the people in charge of publicity. They are living in a parallel universe.
Kev, not surprising really. Just like women drivers, a woman reaching that rank in what has always been a man's world is automatically a target for the freaks who live in the darker reaches of the web. I have a theory that they are all inadequate in some way!

Might be worth it if it is potential blackmailing material. It could stop others from making life miserable for you or allow you to make life miserable for others. :biggrin2: .

The NFTs have been around for a while. Just another daft idea to appeal to those with so much money they don't know what to do with it.

Wasn't sure where to post this. I have just turned the midday 'news' off. it is just a bunch of people talking about Covid. Surely there are things happening in the world besides the pandemic?

The sooner it happens the better! But before they start thinking about charging points for trucks they need to get enough points in place for cars.

But there are quite a few established truck stops around the country, and trucks need a legal operating centre so not impossilble - more turbines at butts mill while lorries are pulled in doing deliveries, etc ?

The BBC has received 100,000 complaints from members of the public over its coverage of the Duke of Edinburgh's death, according to the Sun newspaper.

The corporation cleared its schedules to cover the news when Prince Philip died on Friday, at the age of 99.

EastEnders and the MasterChef final were replaced by news programmes, while BBC Four was taken off air completely.

The BBC declined to confirm the number of complaints it received. The details will officially be issued on Thursday.

If there have been that many it wouldn't surprise me, They did rather go over the top. God knows what will happen when Brenda pops her clogs.... Solemn music non-stop for a week.....?
Later... I think it's the Times that has said it has seen a figure of over 110,000 calls.
The shooting in Minneapolis of Daunte Wright. The chief of police says that the officer concerned meant to deploy her taser but used her hand gun by accident and shot him in the chest. Really?

Will Brenda down size from Windsor Castle? Of course its the Royal residence owned by the Royal family that is until it burnt down then suddenly it became a public liability. Don't wish Brenda any harm but when she goes that should be it and end of all this Royalty nonsense.

I'm with you Ken. Unearned privilege. And some very dodgy justification for the dynasty.....

I spoke to the lady with the yellow camper van this morning. She said that one of the miscreants had approached her and apologised. I'm afraid that doesn't cut any ice with me, far better to have thought before it happened.

We can offer her a nice building in the middle of Taunton overlooking the river and landscaped gardens. Easy access to shops (well, what's left of them), good schools, and lovely surrounding countryside!

Brenda is very welcome here - her own room and bathroom, great food, great weather AND we can take her for a paddle every day on a beautiful beach. We have beautiful wine, fabulous seafood, 😫 but very limited shopping. Unless she wants to dress as a “surfing chick”, it is Big W all the way. There will be little requirement for any gowns, jewels, tiaras. Shorts and T-shirts 8 months of the year. Brilliant sunsets and sunrises. Pub food available most days...( lots of places to eat, including “the chippy”)
Hubby no good at BBQs, so we don’t own one. We do have some lead Chrystal glasses and are happy for her to use them, so long as she pays for breakages.
Am also happy to put her load of “small’s” in with ours.
