I was told to wait 15 minutes, before driving, after the first AZ jab.

I am glad we have such a long wait yet to get offered the jab. If someone waved a needle in front of me right now, I would have to ask them to recall me later. ( I am a coward)

My covid jab and flu jabs over recent years have been hardly noticeable. I didn't feel the needle at all. I even complained to Mrs Tiz that they might be saving vaccine by only pretending to inject me. Perhaps I'm just an insensitive old codger!

I shall be booking in for my flu shot next week. (It is not the actual injection I feel troubled by Tizer).

My test kit came this morning for the Imperial College study . They are studying the effects on those that have had their first dose of the Covid vaccine. I fall into the category although chosen randomly so why not take part. I will do the PCR test on Monday and then it will be picked up by courier. I get all the results within a couple of days.

In a separate delivery, I also got a batch of lateral flow tests. With potential camping season coming up and restrictions being lifted I reckon it's a good idea to have the wherewithal to give an indication. Lateral flow test kits are available free, online, over the phone on request or at the local chemists.

Quite impressed (and worried) by how seriously the NHS is taking what they think are symptoms of long Covid that my daughter has. She goes in to Airedale again on Monday for a bunch of blood and lung tests.

Bob did an antibody test some weeks ago, I am awaiting my kit to do one too. I agree about the lateral flow kits i have already checked out the NHS link and we shall get ours this week as we are due to go away soon

Agreed Stanley, there is a lot of work going into this. Special clinics are being set up. Hope she recovers quickly

I agree completely, and commented similarly to Bob. However 24 hours after my painless second dose my injection site became hot, tender and swollen. 24 hours later it is subsiding again. Bob has had no reaction at all

I go for my second jab on Tuesday so I'm hoping it will be as insignificant as my first one! If you don't hear from me again after Tuesday you'll know that Bill Gates or Elon Musk have taken over control of my brain!

The slight swelling was the only reaction I had as well Sue.
Susan reported she felt a bit better yesterday but goes for tests to Airedale today.

I see the NHS is pushing the link between Type 2 diabetes and serious covid infections link. This link has been suspected for some time but I think that just being overweight is enough to raise your risk factor without being diabetic. If this is so then pushing the diabetes link may be a mistake in letting people think that being overweight is OK as long as you don't have diabetes.

It's a shame they're still using BMI instead of supporting a better indicator.

I think BMI is outdated. I think it needs reviewing. Many folk exceed the old BMI, yet are in the best of health in every way.
( ie...we are all getting bigger, taller, and have better bone density and musculature)

It doesn’t work for athletes either. I believe the waist hip ratio is the one that is now used in medical terms . It should be less than 1. 0.8 comes to mind but I may be mistaken, its a long time since I taught it

Susan and I sat in the Square yesterday and had a coffee in the sun. It was really warm. We had a third member of the family, she brought Kahara. First time I've seen him in the flesh since he was born.

My PCR swab test is sorted and in the fridge waiting for the courier to collect today. I received a text to say that it would be between 11am and 3pm.
